Noah found favor with God.
Noah’s children did not find favor with God. It was just Noah.
So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:7-8
Because Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord, his children and wife were able to take safe harbor in an ark as the world around them drown and died.
Fathers matter. A father’s relationship with his children is a powerful thing. A father’s relationship with the Lord matters in his relationship with his children.
Ninety percent of runaways and homeless teens come from fatherless families. Seventy-one percent of high school dropouts are in fatherless families. Eighty-five percent of youth in detention and correctional facilities are from fatherless families.
Fathers matter and when a child has no father, a man willing to step into that role can be a life changer and lifesaver.
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. Genesis 6:18
One man finding favor with God saved his whole family and the world. Men, your relationship with God matters greatly so too does your relationship with your children and your wife. Get married. Stay married. Have children. Love them. Love the Lord.
Have a happy Father’s Day Weekend.
mic drop... Happy Father's Day to you, too, Erick!
All Fathers Matter! Wouldn't that be a great movement to emerge from the ashes of things like BLM!
A great reminder, also, that God has no grandchildren, only children, directly-adopted by the efficacy of the Blood of the Lamb.
