I don’t think the average American quite understands the political dynamics at play in Israel and the seismic shift that is happening as a result of Joe Biden. Politically speaking, Israel is a divided country and a majority of Israelis do not favor Netanyahu. Despite being the longest-tenured prime minister in the nation’s history, Benjamin Netanyahu was indicted on corruption charges in November of 2019 with the trial paused due to the October 7th attacks. In addition, mass protests gripped the country for months last year as reforms were enacted that curbed the authority of the judicial system.
As fragmented as Israel was before October 7th, they are equally unified now. The country has rallied around Netanyahu and has a unified vision of defeating Hamas and returning the remaining hostages. The American left is not only opposed to Israel as a nation but vehemently despises Benjamin Netanyahu for opposing a two-state solution. Except, that’s not exactly true. Watch:
Erick, this is both totally true and more than a little scary...BUT it must be resisted actively by those of us who care about constitutional laws, "we the people", and any sort of a biblical worldview. The Israeli's are generally left leaning except when it comes to their survival. When that is at stake they move to the right and that is what they are doing now. It is hard for me to see the slow rate that American Jews see or understand the policies of the democrats as being both antisemitic and pro terrorist.
The Bible is clear that Israel will survive and she will stand alone. Let them who have ears, hear what God says to the Nations.
Great perspective on the ultimate power driving the current situation.
More remarkable than Biden's duplicitous ignorance, is seeing and hearing just how much he has deteriorated since 2019: Weaker looking, mumbly, and approaching total incoherence. Four more years? Yeah, sure.
And the American left's vision of Israel? Go stand at our Rio Grande River crossing, then visit a "protest encampment" at one of our prestigious universities, and you'll see what it'd look like. Chaotic borders, ideologues running through the institutions. The Israelis are not foolish enough to trade their sovereignty for US support that comes at such a high price.
