Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will be retiring later this year. Breyer’s resignation is a strong indicator that 1) Democrats are in real trouble and 2) Roe v Wade may be toast. Take a listen:
It's sad that we are at a point that our government feeds that open racial discrimination is important national policy. During the hearings to confirm the black woman who will be approved, it would be interesting for a senator to openly address the issue. Provide a list of non-white, left leaning judges who are Native American, Asian(Chinese) Asian(Arab) Asian(Indian) etc. who meet the Dem's qualifications but are not a black woman. Be blunt and ask if being picked because of your race instead of your qualifications will taint your rulings.
I work with a number of highly qualified individuals who have worked hard to get where they are. These people are personally insulted if you even hint that they got where they are because of their body type. There is, or was, a place for affirmative action in the past. We are no longer there with federal judges unless the Dems are indicating that, until Joe Biden, the senate and presidents of both parties have discriminated against women and minorities.
I hope they appoint a highly qualified candidate willing to judge based on the law. Perhaps I am asking for too much, but diverse ideas among honest people often bring out the best solution.
