This literally has just come across the transom. The New York Times obtained an exclusive interview with Donald Trump. Here’s the money quote:
“Remember, you know, my record is unblemished,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with The New York Times on Thursday. “The real story should be on the endorsements — not the David Perdue one — and by the way, no race is over.”
Perdue meets the underside of the Trump bus now. Wow.
This comes as new public polling in Georgia has Kemp at 56% in the race against Perdue and already at 50% against Abrams. No public poll conducted in 2022 has shown Perdue or Abrams beating Kemp. The last four public polls have had Kemp outside the margin of error against Perdue and above the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff.
Things can definitely change in a hurry in politics. I'm sorry that Perdue let Trump talk him into this race in the first place.
Hopefully, David Perdue will realize all he’s doing now is depleting resources from Kemp to defeat Abrams. It’d be lovely if Purdue and Trump would get on board with endorsing Gov. Kemp. Every leftist in America is sending money to Abram’s campaign. Perdue and Trump should swallow pride and do all they can to help Kemp win. It would be patriotic.
