There was no wave. I got that wrong. A lot of us did.
Instead, what appears to be happening, is a few things.
Republican pollsters pushed polls in that overstated the GOP. Media polling came closer to being right.
Voters are increasingly balkanized. Republican areas did well for Republicans. Democrat areas have done well for Democrats.
We are a divided nation.
One common thread: Trump. Independent voters have decisively moved on from him. Candidates closely tied to Trump lost even in many areas designed to be safe for them.
