I lived in the Middle East for over a decade. In the 80s when I was in school, books did not have Israel listed as a country. Maps either left Israel blank or designated it as Palestine. Telephones were literally incapable of calling an Israeli number. The progress made under the Trump administration to pull multiple Middle Eastern countries together is extraordinary.
