George Stephanopoulos did not land a fatal blow on the Biden campaign, but in my estimation it was enough to force Democratic leaders to confront Joe Biden privately.
Biden did not handle himself well. This went beyond a stutter or a stammer. He came across as too old. He came across as a man regularly being lied to by his campaign staff and aides, who have convinced him the race is in a better position than it is.
This will force Schumer, Jeffries, Pelosi, and others to act.
Stephanopoulos’s interview was not reassuring to Democrats and downright frustrating to senior Democrats strategists who are increasingly convinced those around Biden have blocked him out from the world around him and are lying to him.
But there remain two problems Democrats must confront in shoving Joe Biden aside.
