Is the GOP Prepared This Time?
Not to relitigate 2020, but the problem was not the machines or absentee ballots. The problem was the lawyers. You don’t go to a gunfight with a knife and you don’t go to an election law fight with a DUI lawyer. But that is essentially what the GOP did. The election rules were rewritten around the country due to the pandemic by eager Democrats. The rules changes caught Republicans flat-footed. Now, in 2022, a new COVID strain is rising and the GOP needs to pay attention. The Democrats are going to undoubtedly capitalize on this new strain to change the rules again.
This is interesting precisely because it seemed back then that there was an excellent legal case - that was not being well made - with good evidence that 2020 was far from being the cleanest election there ever was. In this region we were told all claims of fraud were without foundation, and the party of Jefferson were the winners, but I was not so sure. Having said that, it was always possible that the winner was the winner, but by a technical majority only, and they wanted to be able to go on a traditional victory blitz proclaiming themselves the greatest winners ever in a grand historic victory. The electoral college permits this, and Mr Trump needed good legal counsel to defeat the last minute impeachment proceedings based against his final blast against the enemy and keep the chance of returning to power later. But I believe it is possible to demonstrate from factual evidence that Jefferson's party has engaged in fraud against the voters!!!
Just like Obama said about Biden, never underestimate the Repubs' ability to 'f' things up.
