Is This Really America First?
If you want someone to tell you that tariffs are a good thing, I’m not your guy.
When Joe Biden told us that inflation was transitory, Democrats lined up to regurgitate the talking point. It didn’t matter that the preponderance of economic history and major economists said otherwise; the Democrats had a talking point and the vast majority of them repeated the lie.
The exact same thing is happening now on the right. There’s no shortage of historical precedent that needs to be shared to convince any intellectually honest person that tariffs are a tax. More importantly, there’s no shortage of data to refute Trump’s claim that a trade deficit is a sign of a wealthy nation. But if you want to believe the lie, I can’t stop you.
But what bothers me the most is the same Republicans who blasted Biden for any innocuous market drop in his four years are downplaying the $9.5 trillion that has been wiped out from Trump’s self-inflicted wound. Screw the retiree, this is about America First!! It’s time for intellectual honesty. Watch:

I like listening to you a lot Eric, but I think Charles Paine and Victor Davis Hanson are a lot smarter than you when it comes to tariffs in the history of the United States. I think I will go along with them.
Erick have you ever tried to sell ag product tothe EU beef to Australia rice to Japan or open a business in China where you are not allowed to own the majority of the business. I don’t like tariffs either but I also don’t like it when the US is expected to bend over and grab there ankles and smile. We as a country should have learned something from Covid and that we are dependent on other countries for a lot when we don’t need to be
