It's Amy Coney Barrett
CNN is reporting and I have known for the last day for sure that 48-year-old Amy Coney Barrett is going to be President Trump’s pick for the United States Supreme Court.
Multiple senators tell me the Senate Republicans have made clear to the White House that there are at least 51 votes for Barrett. Several have explained to the White House that Barrett will play well in the midwest in areas the President needs to improve. I’m told Mitch McConnell himself made the case for Barrett.
Evangelicals have expressed to the White House that Barrett is their favorite. Many of them, myself included, preferred her over Kavanaugh.
Barrett was Justice Scalia’s favorite law clerk and was a professor at Notre Dame’s Law School. She was appointed to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017. Barrett is known as an originalist who believes in limited government and the tenth amendment.
The announcement will be made tomorrow.
