That is big of you Erick, but I am not so generous of heart as you. Would it kill Republican politicians, black or white, (Scott, Hurd and Christie, Haley are the ones I saw) to understand the issue before running to criticize Governor DeSantis? A five minute read of a couple of the excellent articles out there (Charlie Cook’s in National Review was perhaps the best) would reveal that the issue is bogus for many reasons, and that DeSantis was indeed right.

Further, the race-baiting by Kamala Harris, the Democrats and the media was truly toxic and deliberate. As far as I can tell, not a single Republican candidate was intellectually honest enough to do the right thing and defend DeSantis and these standards, which is opportunistic and shameful. Worst of all, it ennobles the left to freely engage in perhaps their most dangerous and disgraceful action: dishonest racial politics to further leftism.

I don't think they are "woke" or "rhinos" or anything like that. But I do absolutely expect better of them. Any little thing that gives ammunition to the left is seriously detrimental to ALL republicans running for anything. Democrats can manage to stick together on anything, no matter how controversial and republicans can't manage to hang together on anything. Using a democrat talking point because of "politics" against a republican opponent is giving points to the democrat.
