First, thanks to those of you who suggested I throw my hat in the ring for the Fox opening. That’s very kind. It is also not in the cards. I’d 100% do it, but don’t expect to be on any radar anywhere. I do hope, however, that whoever they use remains fearless in taking on the cultural war the left is waging and does not just focus on partisan outrages of the day.
Second, we need to talk about Ron DeSantis’s supporters online. There seems to be some bit of panic setting in because of this:
After the latest Wall Street Journal poll that had shown DeSantis in the lead in December now showing him receding, lots of DeSantis supporters freaked out that DeSantis needs to enter ASAP; he needs to hit back; he’s not going to recover; etc.
Really?
It’s freaking April of 2023, people.
Notice the Haley, Pence, and Scott supporters are not freaking out. The DeSantis fans will smugly reply that they were never in contention, but if you pay attention to the polling above, DeSantis was not in contention either. He has never been ahead of Trump in the average.
Just consider what President Rudy Giuliani thinks about all of this.
In fact, if we go further with Giuliani in 2007, he never made it to Iowa, despite dominating the polling in 2007.
I suspect DeSantis’s team understood they would go through the wringer before announcing. His campaign has been very, very deliberate over the past year. They have put together their campaign plan. They undoubtedly anticipated a pile on before entry.
