Booker was essentially doing a Seinfeld impersonation. He did a show about nothing.

Neil McKenna's avatar

Of course you do remember how successful Seinfeld was.

JUST IN: Democrats Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and the DNC have filed a lawsuit against President Trump to stop his executive order banning non-citizens from voting in U.S. elections.

Now, why would they do that?

Neil McKenna's avatar

Because a huge number of citizens would likely be unable to produce proof of citizenship.

Cory Booker vs Strom Thurmond. CNN lies again. Haley Talbot, Reporter and Producer for CNN claimed that Strom Thurmond was a REPUBLICAN when he used the filibuster to stop the Civil Rights Act of 1957 (right for all citizens to vote). In 1957 Thurmond was a Democrat. He also used the filibuster in 1964 against the Civil Rights Act (equal access to employment, schools and public place) as a Democrat and when that was signed into law he FLIPPED to the Republican Party later in 1964. These people don't do their research or study history.

What the Dems won't admit about the Wisconsin race is that WI remains a purple state and without a sorry Dem candidate to tip the scale to Trump, this could just be a reversion to the norm versus a statement against Trump and Musk.

Who cares about Cory Booker?

Of course, his antics were all aimless theater.

But what should merit your attention is the horror that will unfold at 4pm Eastern today, as Trump takes his last and most brutal shot at "tariffs" to diminish if not destroy the global economy to assuage a lifetime of grievance and pathology,

No country has benefited more from the world trading system than the US, or has more to gain from freer global trade.

Booker accomplished nothing. Only in DC could someone be lauded for doing what amounts to nothing. The real story of the night was not the GOP holding two seats they should have held or the WI Supreme Court where they’ve always tended liberal or worse, it was the fact the people of WI voted overwhelmingly for voter ID. Spot on Erick. Another big win for those that believe in common sense policies.

Spartacus! Spartacus! Spartacus! It was interesting to see Booker with the veins standing out on his forhead at hour 23.

Carmine Pescatore's avatar

He was a terrible mayor of Newark.

Neil McKenna's avatar

Hah! Name a good one.

Booker had a completely crazed look in his eyes as he ranted incoherently. I would suggest a mental health intervention is in order.

Southern Planter's avatar

You think that was incoherent? You should watch Trump trying to defend his tariff plan.

Kathy's avatar

Whatabout, whatabout, whatabout, whatabout. Your entire repertoire.

Southern Planter's avatar

So, you agree that Trump is incoherent on tariffs?

Good Morning People democrats remind me of the high priests of Jesus day they wear the best robes and sit in the best places stand on the street corners and ramble the longest prayers but have no clue God Bless America have a Great Day

Southern Planter's avatar

So, today is the day that Trump plans to impose his tariff tax on all Americans and all we have to write about is Cory Booker's meaningless speech? I was hoping for a piece on how Trump is breaking his promise to lower prices, on day one no less. But alas, maybe tomorrow?

Neil McKenna's avatar

Many posters here think Erick has already said too much about tariffs. Brings to mind a prophet being without honor in his own country.

Southern Planter's avatar

Indeed. But their prophet is not Erick. It is Trump. And Erick risks all if he defames the prophet.

Booker had one goal. He wants to be the candidate for 2028 and is looking for attention. Classic politician - a lot of noise but nothing actually accomplished.

We can only hope. Poor NJ.

Time for change in the Garden State.

Linda Gray's avatar

So if judges are supposed to uphold the rule of law not make it why are judges progressive or conservative? Aren’t they supposed to be unbiased? Just asking.

MGC's avatar

One can only hope…. it remains consistent that the Democrats placed on the Supreme Court or Appellate Courts rarely break ranks.

Another unfortunate consequence of Trump’s loss in 2020 is that Biden put more than 270 judges on the bench. We are now seeing how some of rather pitiful selections are ruling.

John's avatar

Booker did nothing but create a spectacle. And that is all Democrats have.

A win is a win. Nothing really changed. The media is making a big deal that trump won it by 30 points. Oh please. When’s the last time a special elections been held in that district? A win is a win. That’s it. They won’t win it in 2026 either. So get over it.
