Republicans, Repeat After Me: "Release the transcript."
Democrats say Special Prosecutor Robert Hur used “gratuitous” words in his report. He did not have to characterize Joe Biden’s memory in such harsh terms. Democrats dispute the characterization. They claim Hur is a Trump Republican who intends to undermine Joe Biden.
Truthful reporters would point out two things.
First, Attorney General Merrick Garland publicly released the report, which he did not have to do. Hur did not publicly release the report. Joe Biden’s Attorney General released it.
Second, Hur made those statements to explain why, though he believes Joe Biden broke the law, he is choosing not to prosecute Joe Biden. He does not believe a jury would find Joe Biden mentally competent to stand trial, so he will not waste taxpayer dollars prosecuting Biden.
Republicans, who intend to push the issue of Biden’s memory, need to keep up one common refrain — release the transcript.
Joe Biden, his lawyer, and those around him refuse to agree to release the transcript. They wish to characterize the conversations with Mr. Hur, but they do not want us to see Mr. Hur.
Every Republican pundit, analyst, and politician should, at every opportunity, demand Joe Biden's consent to release the transcript. It is the easiest way to let the public see for themselves.
Do the Democrats not trust the public? Do they think the public cannot read and understand the issue for themselves? They must not trust the public. They want to tell the public Hur has mischaracterized Biden. But they could let the public see for themselves.
It would be political malpractice if the GOP does not constantly and consistently demand Joe Biden's consent to release the transcript so the American people themselves can see for themselves if Biden was incoherent and troublingly forgetful.
Release the transcript.
As usual Republicans will blow this. They will instead focus on the Hunter Biden investigation or some other shiny object. Trump will say something stupid and make this about him. Pick it. Politicians seem to have brain waves that are flatlined. A corpse is more animated. We sink further into massive debt. The middle east needs are undivided attention thanks to Biden and John Kerry trying to surrender the US to Iran. We have taken our eyes off Ukraine which has turned into a quagmire. We are intent on focusing on every nuance of who say what during the never ending election cycles while real issues go unresolved. We need real politicians that can stand up in front of the American people and admit the truth about our national debt and the consequences of uncontrolled spending. Instead we get the clown car complete with clowns.
I have little doubt in the Republicans doing everything but focusing on the call for the transcripts, since that would take common sense from a group with a common sense deficit.
Erick do you really expect any politicians will do the right thing? The only time they care about us is when they need our vote. I know this can be considered a jaded cynical view but it took me 50 years of adult life to get here.
