Yes, there is big news this morning. Kyrsten Sinema has announced she’s going to be an independent, but she won’t caucus with the GOP, so the Democrats still have technical control of the Senate.
Also, inflation is still high, but not as high. Also, Twitter really was shadowbanning people and making sure some accounts were never featured in trending tweets, among other things. It appears the former CEO lied to Congress.
Forget all that right now. Please. Forget that. Some of it makes you excited. Some of it gives you anxiety.
Forget that and know this.
In two weeks, we will remember God himself coming to earth in the lowliest state. Born in a manger and raised by a carpenter and his wife, Christ came to reset our relationship with the Father, undone in the fall.
Just think about that for a moment.
All of human history, we waited for that thing God promised in the Garden — that a descendant of Eve would have a son who would crush the head of the serpent. Adam and Eve thought it would be Seth. His name means “appointed.” But it was not him. Noah’s family thought it was Noah, whose name means “rest” like the Sabbath rest at last.
So, so long did humanity wait, and then, of all places, there he was in a manger as a baby, infant lowly and infant holy.
Now, we here wait again for his return. Some reject the idea altogether as fable and myth. Some of us have had such real and personal experiences with Jesus that we struggle for words to explain it but know, even as the world’s doubts creep in, that he is real and will return.
We do not know when. But he will return in all his glory and call us to him this time.
In the meantime, in the anxiety and anxiousness of the present fallen world, we can stay informed. We can stay engaged. But we have to remember something vital.
We need no king, no political savior, and no political party to win. We have already won because Christ is King, he has won, and he will return.
We’ve won. Let not your heart be troubled. Do not be anxious. Regardless of electoral outcomes, political leaders, wars, rumors of wars, and the troubles of this planet, victory is already ours. It is, as they say, darkest before dawn. The troubles of the world seem to be spiraling out of control. Darkness seems even darker than before.
But he draws near, and the light is coming again. So do not fear. Do not be anxious. God is sovereign. This is all part of his plan.
Thank you!
I love that you have made this known to your audience! This is the greatest news story of all time. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone. All praise and glory to the King of Kings! Emmanuel- God with us! Thank you!!
