Welcome! Donald Trump listened. His team says Trump will spend millions in the midterms. They’re going to open their pocketbooks ASAP. (Politico)
HEADLINE STORY: Trump spending really is the big news today. From Politico:
“Trump has spent minimally on behalf of Republican candidates so far this year, but that’s about to change with the new super PAC. Save America, the former president’s leadership PAC and one of the best-funded entities in politics, has around a $100 million cash reserve — money that can be transferred to MAGA, Inc.” We don’t know how much of the money will be spent, but they will spend. That’s good. He’s also staffing with some top players in DC who know how to win races.
ALSO BIG: Kevin McCarthy is pushing out a poll tested, voter approved, non-controversial agenda of pablum to give something for House Republicans to campaign on. Ever since the Contract With America in 1994, House Republicans have convinced themselves they have to do this, though most of it will never get enacted. It’s all innocuous poll tested stuff — the campaign equivalent of loving puppies. (Bloomberg)
MUST SEE TV: Democrats continue to deny there is a problem at the border. It becomes an easy story for reporters to fact check just by showing the crowds. The Biden Team keeps digging holes.
