If it doesn’t enrage you, note something — Sasse, an unabashed pro-life conservative won Omaha and Donald Trump did not. The Republican Party isn’t going to win much without Donald Trump’s voters. It also isn’t going to win much without people like Ben Sasse.
Ben Sasse won every county in Nebraska, getting 26,661 more votes than Donald Trump. Donald Trump lost both the Lincoln and Omaha, NE areas and Sasse won them.
The sooner the two sides can figure out a way to coexist inside the GOP, the better off America will be because God help us if we can’t take back Congress in two years.

I have a lot of respect for Ben Sasse. But, there’s a reason he wasn’t saying this before the Nebraska senatorial primary in 2020: he was afraid of being primaried. Perhaps it was an unwarranted worry, after all he won it by 50%. Like most Republicans, he found his voice after winning a six-year term or after announcing retirement.
The Republican challenge is that they can’t afford to alienate the crazies, but I suspect they’re rapidly approaching the point where they can’t afford to tolerate them, either.
