Happy anniversary and prayers for many more with your sweet wife!

I’m having to remind myself daily that God is sovereign and He is in control. Otherwise, it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay sane in this world we live in.

Still on my first cup of coffee this morning. Not sure I was ready for that big of a dose of reality to start my day. One of the many things that I appreciate about Erick is that he has no problem exposing extremist on the right. I can't and do not want to keep up with the crazies in this world, but at the same time, do not want to be ignorant of their existence.

Racism is Racism. Hate is hate. These are all prime examples of it. But to me, one of the most hideous things you can do is attempt to justify your hatred, while using or hiding behind the cross as justification. This is nothing new. The Clan (not today's - the one that murdered, tortured, beat and terrorized people) did the same thing. This was our version of the Taliban, al-queda, etc. (To be clear - I'm not justifying today's version of The Clan - just making clear of just how awful they were).

We had this discussion in our home a couple of nights ago. I'm not sure I could forgive a son being murdered that quickly. It would take a lot of praying and Christian counseling to get me there. And that isn't criticism of his parents/girl friend. That is admiration.

One last note. UGA has a young freshman playing in their secondary this year. Malaki Starks - looks like he will have a long career in the NFL. The stories are already coming out about what a high character guy he is. He went to Jefferson HS. The same high school that young Mr. DeWitt attended. He was one of his closest friends and he is absolutely distraught over this. Mr. Starks is black. The focus will be on the hate. Not the love. One thing is for sure. This is just sad..
