Attacking The US Senate
Mainstream media outlets are recirculating attacks on the legitimacy of the US Senate following Joe Manchin’s surprise retirement announcement which drastically increases the likelihood that Republicans regain control of the upper chamber. Unsurprisingly, The Washington Post (paywall but no need to read) is spearheading the charge.
The United States Senate was never designed to represent all people equally. But over recent decades, it has become unrepresentative in ways the founder could not have imagined.
The Washington Post is the same outlet that pulled a satirical cartoon poking fun at Hamas when woke employees objected and regularly regurgitates Hamas talking points as undisputed facts.
Yesterday The Post ran an egregiously biased story attacking the AR-15’s role in mass shootings while ignoring the fact that the vast majority of gun-related deaths are from handguns. My friend Stephen Gutowski responded in this piece that you should definitely read.
An Illegal Chinese Biolab Containing Infectious Diseases Operated in California. The Feds Ignored It for Months.
A biolab illicitly run by a Chinese national in California contained traces of coronavirus, HIV, malaria, and other infectious diseases, but federal authorities spent months ignoring pleas from local officials to shut the site down, according to a report from congressional investigators.
The lab was discovered in December 2022, when officers in Reedley, California, a rural town of 26,000 residents, accidentally stumbled on the nondescript warehouse. Once inside, "several individuals who identified themselves as PRC nationals'' were seen working "with thousands of vials of biological substances," according to a months-long investigation by the House Select Committee on China published Thursday and provided to the Washington Free Beacon.

Are Americans Falling Out of Love With EVs?
Sales of all-electric models in the U.S. have plateaued around the 100,000-a-month mark for the past half year after a period of rapid growth. Inventories are piling up and prices are falling, led by market leader Tesla. The average new EV sold for about $52,000 in October, down from around $65,000 a year ago, according to Cox Automotive.

U.S. CEOs on the Chinese Menu
Whatever the merits of this week’s summit between President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, there was no reason for U.S. business leaders to trip over themselves to get in on the action. Yet there they were Wednesday evening, kowtowing to Mr. Xi at a dinner that delivered China a propaganda coup and the CEOs an embarrassment.
The dinner, for which ticket prices ranged up to $40,000, sounds like some affair. Mr. Xi received a standing ovation for taking the stage before he said a word. He garnered more applause—from an audience including Apple’s Tim Cook to executives from Qualcomm and Boeing - for delivering such memorable platitudes as “there is plenty of room for our cooperation” between the U.S. and China.

The Founders designed the Senate to represent the states in DC. The House was designed to represent the people..
The Federal Student Loan Association (FASFA) sprang from an LBJ 1965 higher education program.
At some point the Banking Lobby managed to get a restriction put in place that removed bankruptcy as a path to discharge the loans.
We have all heard Erick talk about this program and that a cure for out-of-control Universities would be to allow FASFA loans to be discharged via bankruptcy. This would shift responsibility for a useful degree to the Universities. He had a great idea.
But unbeknownst to us all, the Feds were listening to Erick and loved his idea. The Feds a year ago quietly put in place a rule change that made it “easy peasy” to discharge the debt.
Now if you 1) make at least 1 payment, 2) quit paying, and 3) tell them that you will never be able to pay it back in the future…..you can dump the debt during bankruptcy.
But this wasn’t good enough for our elected slime. Nobody noticed so today they floated a story about how 600 people in America took advantage and dumped all their student loan debt.
600???? Using any measurement this is a colossal failure…..WOW…. They wanted to say 6Million, so last night they dropped this story to alert everyone to the possibilities.
This word is now out. A college degree just became FREE. Doesn’t matter how much debt. Go ahead and rack up $1mil to be a Doc. You can dump it all, file for bankruptcy, and start life fresh with your high dollar free education courtesy of hardworking citizens like me.
And because everyone will be doing it, any stigma attached to being a deadbeat will disappear. As a kid just starting out, with no real assets, this would be the perfect time to pull the trigger and start fresh.
This is a new IQ test when I hire college grads. If they are applying for a job and they have ANY student loan debt whatsoever, then they are TOO STUPID for me to hire.
Next week I am going to get a mail order law degree from “Dewey, Cheatem, and How” and specialize in $99 bankruptcies. I am going to be Richie rich rich.
