🚨 Biden Officially Ditches Israel
In a shocking interview on CNN, Joe Biden claimed he would no longer provide Israel with “artillery shells, bombs for fighter jets and other offensive weapons” if it invades the city of Rafah where Hamas is likely holding the remaining 132 Israeli hostages. This is the first time the White House has withheld arms from Israel.
Why this matters: The weapons designated for Israel have already been approved by Congress as a part of a larger piece of legislation. By Biden withholding congressionally approved aid for Israel, he is doing the same thing Democrats impeached Donald Trump over when he withheld congressionally approved aid for Ukraine.
Context: Biden’s comments are causing whiplash among Americans who the day before, watched the President give a staunchly pro-Israel speech where he spoke of his commitment to the “security of Israel and its right to exist as an independent Jewish state is ironclad, even when we disagree.”
Here are three noteworthy reactions:
Speaker Mike Johnson: “I mean, 24 hours ago it was confirmed to me by top administration officials that the policy’s very different than what he stated there, so I hope that’s a senior moment."
Bill Ackman: “Crazy. This is one of the worst acts against an ally of a sitting president ever. Hopefully, this means he won’t be sitting for much longer.”
Anti-Defamation League former chairman: “There seem to be [two] Bidens, one that spoke at the Holocaust event, who flew to Israel during war [against] Israel, moved military/financial support and the political Biden who engages in [party] politics — telling Israel it has [a] right to defend itself — but we will tell you when and how.”
Impeachment: Scott Jennings on CNN first pointed out that Congress impeached Trump for doing the exact same thing. Watch:
Scott Jennings later put this on Twitter:
Biden Shrugs Off Prices
When CNN pointed out that grocery prices are up more than 30%, President Biden claimed that “people have the money to spend.”
Voters Worried About Democracy Under Biden?
As Democrats claim that Donald Trump is an existential threat to democracy, MSNBC reacted to a new poll claiming the majority of independent voters worry about Biden weakening democracy.
