Dumping Yellen?
Axios reports that White House officials are quietly weighing the option of forcing Janet Yellen out of the Treasury Department. The White House believes Yellen has made multiple missteps in her time at Treasury most notably her adamant claims that inflation would be transitory.
The good news for Democrats: The move would allow the Biden administration to use Yellen as a shield to deflect Republican attacks on the economy.
The bad news for Democrats: Repulicans likely win control of the Senate and Biden would have a difficult time getting Yellen’s replacement approved.

Alzheimer’s Progression Slowed by Drug in Major Trial
From Bloomberg:
Shares of Eisai Co. and partner Biogen Inc. surged after they reported that a drug significantly slowed Alzheimer’s disease, making it the first medicine to blunt progression of the most common dementia in a definitive, large-scale trial.
Lecanemab reduced the pace of cognitive decline in people with early disease by 27% over 18 months when compared with a placebo, meeting the main goal of the trial, the companies said in a statement. The benefit came with side effects, including brain swelling and bleeding, though severe cases were rare. Why Everyone Hates NYC
