Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene is prepared to make landfall in Florida’s big bend on Thursday evening as a category four storm with a 15 to 20-foot storm surge expected in the area. Helene’s path has shifted slightly eastward sending the storm through Florida’s panhandle and directly towards Central Georgia. Go follow my friend Ryan Maue for storm updates.

Indicted

The FBI has indicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams before an early morning raid on his mayoral home. While the indictment is currently sealed, Adams has allegedly been indicted for taking campaign money from the Turkish government in exchange for approving a Turkish consulate on US soil.

The shocking news comes weeks after the Justice Department has interrogated or arrested multiple members of Adams's inner circle. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led a group of prominent New York Democrats to call for Adams to resign. Governor Hochul has the authority to remove him but has not signaled her next move.

UPDATE: Eric Adams has just been charged with the following crimes:

• Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud, Federal Program Bribery, and to Receive Campaign Contributions by Foreign Nationals -

• Wire Fraud

• Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National

• Solicitation of a Contribution by a Foreign National

• Bribery

Botching Friendly Interviews

Kamala Harris sat down for a friendly interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and somehow flubbed it. Here’s a sample of her saying holistically 3 times in 17 seconds.

Despite, Stephanie Ruhle’s close connection with the Harris campaign, Ruhle blasted Harris for refusing to answer some of her questions.

Even the New York Times thought it was bad.

Hezbollah

Israel killed another Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon in an evening that saw 75 airstrikes from the IDF.

The Biden administration has proposed a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah that dozens of countries have approved… except Israel and Lebanon. Both countries have rejected the agreement with Netanyahu telling the IDF to continue fighting “with full force.” More than 600 people (primarily terrorists) have been killed in Lebanon since Monday.

China’s Newest Nuclear Submarine Sank, Setting Back Its Military Modernization

China’s newest nuclear-powered attack submarine sank in the spring, a major setback for one of the country’s priority weapons programs, U.S. officials said.

The episode, which Chinese authorities scrambled to cover up and hasn’t previously been disclosed, occurred at a shipyard near Wuhan in late May or early June.
