Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton made landfall yesterday evening south of Tampa Bay as a large category-three storm that failed to live up to the apocalyptic predictions. While damage from wind and flooding was seen across many low-lying areas south of Tampa, the damage resulting from storm surge was relatively minor. Still, the storm packed a punch.

Kamala’s Problems
The economy ranks as the number one issue voters care about when given 22 different options according to Gallup.
Context: With an election less than a month away, the economy was the only issue that a majority of respondents claimed that candidates' policy positions were “extremely important” and directly influenced their vote.
Trump: Voters gave Donald Trump a significant nine-point edge over Kamala Harris when asked who is better equipped to handle the economy. The 54% to 45% margin mirrors his advantage over Harris on immigration but trails his five-point lead over Harris on foreign affairs.
Inflation: Compounding the economic problem for Harris is that food and shelter costs provoked higher-than-expected inflation in new data just released this morning. Inflation jumped more than analysts expected in September as unemployment claims also hit a 13-month high.
Why this matters: The September economic report pointing to sticky inflation and a weakening labor market is the final economic data point that voters will see before election day.
Immigration: Trump’s nine-point edge over Harris on immigration is significant as a shocking majority of Americans believe immigration to the US should decrease. 55% of Americans believe that immigration to the US should be lowered after only 28% of Americans held this same position in 2020.

Desantis is amazing. Imagine the election right now if he were the nominee. We wouldn’t even be discussing ties or close contests.
Desantis would be working on his transition team.
