Clip of the day:
Pennsylvania Senate Debate: Fetterman vs Oz
John Fetterman had a really bad night in a debate unlike any other. The speech and cognitive impairments resulting from his stroke earlier this year made the debate deeply uncomfortable to watch and showed just how much information his campaign withheld from the public.
Fetterman used closed captions to read the questions asked by moderators which left extended periods of uncomfortable silence on stage. After the debate, his campaign blamed the debate committee for using “delayed captions filled with errors.” The committee thoroughly debunked these claims.
Prediction markets swung hard in favor of Dr. Oz following the debate.
New York Governors Debate: Zeldin vs Hochul
Lee Zeldin (R) landed blows on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) over crime and handouts in the first and only debate in the race for governor of New York. Governor Hochul’s 20+ point lead collapsed earlier this year and has prompted Real Clear Politics to designate the race a toss-up.
Biden's Secret Deal
The Biden administration thought they had secured a secret deal for extra oil production before the November election from Saudi Arabia following Biden’s famed fist-bump visit with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Instead, Saudi Arabia helped push OPEC+ to cut oil production by two million barrels per day leaving Biden administration officials furious according to The New York Times.
Lawmakers who had been told about the trip’s benefits in classified briefings and other conversations that included details of the oil deal — which has not been previously disclosed and was supposed to lead to a surge in production between September and December — have been left fuming that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman duped the administration.
