Welcome! Another day, another story of panicked Democrats trying to mitigate GOP gains in the polls.

Clip of the day:
More Staffers Leave VP Office
The chief of staff to Vice President Harris is leaving the White House for personal reasons. This marks another high-profile departure from the VP’s office in just a matter of months. The Harris team recently lost its deputy chief of staff, national security adviser, and speechwriter. Harris’s staff management has been consistently dysfunctional since her term as Attorney General of California. Here’s more from the Washington Post.
Kevin McCarthy’s Bad Day
The New York Times published an excerpt from a coming book claiming that Kevin McCarthy said that Trump should resign from office just days after January 6th. The Speaker of the House and his team denied this to the hilt. Last night, two New York Times reporters went on MSNBC (of course) and played this clip of McCarthy indeed recommending that Trump should resign. More tapes may be coming in the future.
Ukraine Update: Mass Graves Found
Outside of the besieged city of Mariupol, satellite images show enormous mass graves dug by Russian soldiers. Local leaders claim the graves were dug to hold the 9,000 bodies of executed Ukrainian citizens in the port city. Here is more from the New York Post.

Biden Faces Renewed Title 42 Criticism
Biden is doubling down on ending the Trump era deportation policy on May 23rd. Politico sums the problem up perfectly:
That decision to end the use of the public health order known as Title 42 has placed President Joe Biden in a political bind. The president is attempting to balance his long-standing promise to revoke the policy — which, under the banner of fighting the Covid pandemic, justified the immediate expulsion of migrants without due process — right as Republicans weaponize immigration before the midterms and as a growing number of Democratic senators want restrictions to remain in place for fear that the administration is not prepared for a summer surge of migrants to the border.
