COVID Lab Theory
Three cables obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request from U.S Right To Know suggest ties between the Chinese military and the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology where the COVID lab leak began. To make matters worse, the highly redacted cables suggest it was the Chinese government, not local authorities, that stifled critical information in the early days of the COVID pandemic.
Two Republican Senators are pressuring the Biden administration to comply with the COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023 which legally requires the declassification of all documents pertaining to the origins of the deadly pandemic. The deadline for the bill signed by President Biden is this Sunday.
Reminder: Just three years ago The New York Post was censored by Facebook and Twitter for publishing stories claiming the COVID pandemic was started by a lab leak in Wuhan, China. As Michael Shellenberger notes on Twitter, The New York Post was the first to accurately publish the lab leak story and the Hunter Biden laptop story yet was censored for both from big tech.
KJP Violate Hatch Act
The independent Office of Special Counsel told The White House that Karine Jean-Pierre has repeatedly violated the Hatch Act by referencing Republicans as MAGA during White House press conferences. This morning the White House ignored the violation and stated she would continue to use the term.
What is it? The Hatch Act is largely unenforceable but is intended to regulate the way government employees can weigh in on political activities.
Double standard: As I noted on Twitter, Kellyanne Conway was excoriated by media outlets for Hatch Act violations under Trump while Karine Jean-Pierre only gets a passing mention in a handful of media outlets.
Trump Lawyers
Donald Trump’s lawyers in the fall of 2022 approached the former President with a plan to quietly negotiate with Merrick Garland and the Justice Department to turn over the now infamous documents and scuttle the impending legal issue. We now know Donald Trump ignored this advice and instead listened to Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch who told Trump he should fight to keep the documents per The Washington Post (paywall). Stacey’s Voter Lie
Stacey Abrams and sympathetic media outlets have claimed for years that her voter registration organizations are largely responsible for the boom in new voter registrations in the state of Georgia. That’s not true. It turns out that Georgia’s Automatic Voter Registration Program is the single largest driving factor in the state’s registration resurgence since implemented in 2016. The program allows potential voters to simply register to vote while getting their driver’s license.
Underreported Story of the Day
The Netherlands is closing the largest gas field in Europe over environmental concerns in a disturbing move that will limit the energy supply to the region. After narrowly avoiding a Russian-induced energy crisis thanks to an unseasonably warm winter, the region could potentially face further energy shortages thanks to the move. European natural gas prices have surged 95% in the past 10 trading days.
On the same day, Venezuela’s infamous dictator Nicholas Maduro announced the country is exploring the extraction of massive natural gas deposits off the country’s coast. The hardhanded dictator has overseen the destruction of the country’s economy resulting from nationalizing energy production while perpetrating notorious human rights abuses. Venezuela currently has multiple Americans wrongly imprisoned. The prospect of a resurging Venezuela that has notorious close ties with Iran raises concerns about growing anti-American influence in the region.
“Name One Study”
Dan Crenshaw excoriated an alleged scientific expert who claimed puberty-
