Netflix Fights The Wokes
Netflix sent a warning shot to woke employees in a new corporate memo released earlier this week. The memo said the company will not “censor specific artists or voices” that employees find harmful. The move comes in response to the backlash Netflix faced from employees after Dave Chapelle’s special was released. This is from The Dailywire:
“If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you,” the memo states, later adding that employees may be required to work on projects that they “perceive to be harmful” and that if they have a hard time accepting their work assignment, they might want to consider working somewhere else.
Musk Pauses Twitter Deal
Elon Musk says the deal to acquire Twitter is temporarily on pause until Twitter can prove spam accounts represent less than 5% of the user base. More from CNN:
The news initially sent Twitter shares down more than 20% in premarket trading before the stock rebounded somewhat. Two hours after his first tweet, Musk posted that he is "still committed to acquisition."
Crypto Chaos
More than $1 trillion in crypto has been lost since the market began its descent 6 months ago. Cryptocurrencies and flashy meme stocks hit their respective highs in November of 2021 with Bitcoin topping out at $67,802.30 and Ethereum at $4,800. They are both down almost 60% from then.
