Clip of the day:
Russia Retreats
The war in Ukraine has radically shifted this week following heavy casualties for the Russians on multiple fronts. The Russian military is retreating from two northern regions and the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv to the far eastern province of Donbas where intense street fighting has been reported. Ukrainian officials are urging the 4.1 million civilians to leave the Donbas region while they still have a chance. Here are more Ukraine headlines:

Looming Recession?
Rising interest rates and surging inflation have Deutsche Bank economists officially predicting a recession in late 2023. Goldman Sachs echoed these concerns estimating a 38% chance of a recession in the next 24 months. More from The Hill:
“We no longer see the Fed achieving a soft landing. Instead, we anticipate that a more aggressive tightening of monetary policy will push the economy into a recession,” the Deutsche Bank economists said in the report, according to CNN.
The bank specifically predicted a “mild recession” with unemployment peaking above 5 percent in 2024. But the bank also warned that there was “considerable uncertainty” surrounding the matter.

It Pays To Be Transgender
A California city is paying residents to be transgender. This is from Fox News:
Transgender residents in Palm Springs, California are eligible to receive a UBI of up to $900 per month solely for identifying as transgender or nonbinary — no strings attached.
The new pilot program will have $200,000 set aside for allocation after a unanimous vote by the Palm Springs City Council last week.
