The Cabinet
Donald Trump is reportedly planning to nominate Senator Marco Rubio for Secretary of State once he assumes office next year. The move allows Ron DeSantis to appoint a Rubio replacement as questions swirl regarding DeSantis’s plans after being termed out for governor in 2026. Here’s what Marc Caputo (formerly of Politico) said:
“Likeliest scenario for Rubio’s Senate replacement by DeSantis: his chief of staff & former campaign manager James Uthmeier. DeSantis could then run in 2026 when his term ends (Gov Crist in 09 appointed his former COS George LeMieux to the seat, ran in 10 but lost to … Rubio)”
Rubio’s appointment received bipartisan praise with Democratic Senator John Fetterman stating,
“Unsurprisingly, the other team’s pick will have political differences than my own. That being said, my colleague Marco Rubio is a strong choice and I look forward to voting for his confirmation.”
Other high-profile contenders for Rubio’s replacement include Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Núñez and Congressman Byron Donalds.
Other major Trump appointments include:
Former Congressman Lee Zeldin: Environmental Protection Agency
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem: Homeland Security Secretary
Former Defense official Kash Patel: CIA Director
Florida Congressman Mike Waltz: National Security Advisor
NYT: Trump Plans Series of Executive Orders for Day 1, Susie Wiles Tells Donors
Susie Wiles, the next White House chief of staff, privately told a group of Republican donors on Monday that President-elect Donald J. Trump would move on his first day in office to reinstate several executive orders from Mr. Trump’s first term that President Biden had revoked, according to two people in the room who insisted on anonymity to describe the closed-door remarks.
The comments by Ms. Wiles, a Florida political strategist who oversaw Mr. Trump’s winning campaign, were some of her first since he chose her last week as his chief of staff. She was speaking and answering questions in Las Vegas at a private, biannual meeting of the Rockbridge Network, a group of conservative donors that was co-founded by Vice President-elect JD Vance and that has strong representation from the tech industry

The Border Czar
Donald Trump’s Border Czar is putting drug cartels and sanctuary cities on notice claiming the Trump administration is serious about overhauling the country’s immigration system. If sanctuary cities like New York City refuse to assist in removing illegal immigrants, Homan said he would, “double the number of agents we send.” Homan went on to say “If you’re not going to help us, get the hell out of our way.”
Homan’s threats extended to drug cartels claiming the US would use special operators to “take them out.”

Chuck Schumer, even by the standards of today's politics, is a petty, small-minded little jerk.
I am so relieved by Trump’s foreign policy appointments. Waiting for DOD.
