Welcome! Twitter admitted it overstated (or lied about) the number of users they have ahead of Elon Musk’s purchase. Twitter did the same thing back in 2017.

Clip of the day:
Disinformation Governance Board
As our clip of the day suggests, the Department of Homeland Security has announced the creation of the Disinformation Governance Board and is placing Nina Jankowicz as the new head. Go read my piece here for details. Here’s a bit on Nina:
Russia Strike Kyiv
A Russian missile struck an apartment block inside of Kyiv while the United Nations Secretary-General was in the city. Rescue workers sifted through debris late into the night but expect the death toll to quickly rise today. Meanwhile, the majority of the heavy fighting remains in the Donbas region.

California’s Nuclear Plant
Gavin Newsom pledged to phase out California’s last remaining nuclear power plant despite the state’s perpetual energy crisis. Progressives cheered and no plans were made to replace the state’s number one energy source. Newsom appears to be changing his mind with more significant power shortages looming. This is from the LA Times:
Newsom told the L.A. Times editorial board Thursday that the state would seek out a share of $6 billion in federal funds meant to rescue nuclear reactors facing closure, money the Biden administration announced this month. Diablo Canyon owner Pacific Gas & Electric is preparing to shutter the plant — which generated 6% of the state’s power last year — by 2025.
Biden’s Midterm Mess
The Biden immigration plan is infuriating swing state Democrats according to the latest report from Politico. Multiple Senators are expressing dismay at the administration’s refusal to act. Here’s an excerpt:
And Hassan isn’t the only incumbent Democrat still raising the alarm. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) said she still hasn’t seen a “comprehensive plan.” Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) also remains unsatisfied, noting “there’s having things on a piece of paper and then what is going on on the southern border — and there is a huge disconnect.”
