The UFO Hearing
Three former military officials testified before a House Oversight subcommittee on the increasing frequency of unidentified aerial phenomena, more recently called “UAPs”.
Details: David Grusch, an Air Force intelligence officer testified that the US government possesses crashed alien aircraft along with “non-human biologics” recovered at the scene. When pressed by lawmakers, Grusch claimed the intelligence information was too sensitive to share with the public but offered to share the names of current government and military officials who would corroborate the story. Graves went on to testify he has been informed of a “multi-decade” government UAP retrieval program.
Stigma: Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot testified UAP sightings among military pilots are "routine" and "grossly underreported" because of the stigma associated with those who do so.
WATCH: Is Mitch McConnell Ok?
Senator Mitch McConnell suddenly appeared unable to speak for 30 seconds at a press briefing before being prompted to leave by fellow Senator John Barrasso. The 81-year-old Senator has been using a wheelchair to navigate airports after taking multiple falls within the past year.
When Joe Biden called to check on McConnell, the Senate minority leader claimed he was sandbagged.
Ukraine & Russia
Prigozhin: After leading a failed coup against the Russian government, Yevgeny Prigozhin witnessed his Wagner empire crumble as he was forced to accept exile status in Belarus, or so he thought. Yesterday, Prigozhin was photographed at a Putin-hosted Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg. As with most news relating to Russia, the sighting raises more questions than answers about Prigozhin’s future.
Wheat: Global wheat prices are up 17% after Russia pulled out of an agreement that allowed cargo vessels to safely transport Ukrainian wheat across the Black Sea. As we speak, multiple empty ships are waiting at the mouth of the Danube River for a new deal to be struck.
Russia-Africa Summit: Putin is allegedly furious at the poor turnout for the Russia-African summit currently happening in St. Petersburg. Only 17 heads of African countries participated after 43 attended the previous conference. Many African countries are protesting Russia’s termination of the grain deal which disproportionately impacts the African continent.
Ukraine: After a sluggish start to the much-anticipated counter-offensive, Ukraine reported significant progress overnight with Zalensky saying, “Our boys at the front had very good results today,” While the specifics are unknown, analysts tell Bloomberg that Ukraine was indeed able to break “through certain pre-prepared Russian defensive positions.”
Drone strategy: Ukraine is using consumer-level drones that cost as little as $400 to execute kamikaze-style attacks on expensive pieces of Russian military equipment. Over 100 Ukrainian companies have popped up that produce some or all of the parts for these drones. While the drone operators must be within a few miles of the target, the tactic has proven to be a cost-effective method of breaking up heavily fortified Russian defensive positions. Market snapshot:
This longtime pro photographer suggests the rise in UAP reports is driven by the presence of smartphones in the hands of much of the world's population. You'll note that the number of videos of "stuff we hear about but never see", such as car crashes, lightning strikes, boating accidents et al, has also grown dramatically over the past decade. These UAP events have likely been going on for decades - millennia if you buy the "giant aliens built the pyramids" theories - but we lacked the capability to easily capture and publish quality video records until about 2010.
