What’s Happening In Davos?

The World Economic Forum has kicked off in Davos. Lots of conservatives get worked up by the “globalists” and many conspiracies abound. The reality is that Davos is a support cult of rich atheists who worship at the altar of climate change. They are impotent in the face of democratic resistance against them.  There’s no need for conspiracy theories. They are very open and transparent about what they want.

Influence: In Europe, they are somewhat successful in socialist-leaning countries. In the United States, they have failed outside the left. Davos exists, in part, for global conversation and cooperation, which is good. But it also exists because the expert prescriptions of the elite have so often failed and failed to be implemented and they go to Switzerland to console themselves that, gosh darn it, they really are smart and sophisticated if only the rubes of democracy would listen to them.

The Indiana Senate Race

Mike Braun is retiring from the United States Senate to run for governor in the bright red state of Indiana. The open senate seat earned a new contender today with the announcement from four-term congressman Jim Banks. All eyes now turn to former two-term Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels who allegedly is interested in the seat.

Why this matters: Politico makes the point that the potential Jim Banks vs Mitch Daniels primary matchup is symbolic of the larger divide in the Republican Party. Banks, a populist conservative who regularly rails against cultural issues on Fox News, stands in contrast with the more moderate Mitch Daniels who polls well with suburban voters that have recently been fleeing the GOP. An Intel Official Knew Hunter Biden Laptop ‘had to be real’ But Signed ‘disinfo’ Letter Anyway

Wow. Go read this story from The New York Post:

Douglas Wise, a former Defense Intelligence Agency deputy director, was one of 51 erstwhile intelligence brass who issued the public letter on Oct. 19, 2020 — five days after The Post began a series of reports on the now-first son’s shady overseas business dealings.

“All of us figured that a significant portion of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible,” said Wise
