Trump’s Superseding Indictment
New charges against Donald Trump suggest the former President instructed the property manager of Mar-a-Lago to delete video footage in an attempt to obstruct the prosecution’s investigation into the President’s handling of classified documents. The superseding indictment from Special Council Jack Smith’s team claims Trump tried to “alter, destroy, mutilate, or conceal evidence” in new charges that will be added to the 31 existing charges Trump faces under the Espionage Act.
Details: When federal agents discovered surveillance cameras near where classified documents were stored on the premise of Mar-a-Lago, prosecutors drafted a subpoena for the video footage of the specific cameras. Instead, Donald Trump directed Carlos De Oliveira - the Mar-a-Lago property manager - to wipe the cameras clean. Travel records show De Oliveira abruptly canceled existing travel plans the following day to attend to Trump’s request.
Why this matters: On the same day the superseding indictment was announced, Trump’s team was in Washington meeting with Jack Smith’s team regarding a target letter Trump received pertaining to Smith’s parallel investigation into Trump's role in the events of January 6th. In short, Trump’s legal issues are far from over.
Trump’s legal landscape: Donald Trump is currently facing charges in New York relating to hush money payments to a pornstar, charges in Florida relating to concealing classified documents, likely charges relating to the events of January 6th, and likely charges in Georgia relating to attempts to interfere with the results of the 2020 election.
The IRS Whistleblower
The IRS whistleblower who made shocking claims regarding preferential treatment Hunter Biden has received is calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate the case. Here are two excerpts from his open letter in The Wall Street Journal.
Justice officials prevented investigators from following the evidence. Appointing a special counsel would create a path for the investigation to continue with integrity. I hope transparency will restore public confidence in the idea that every U.S. taxpayer receives equal treatment under the law. Sweetheart deals shouldn’t be handed out like candy to the rich, powerful and politically connected.
…
I’ve worked at the Internal Revenue Service as a special agent for more than a decade. I am also a Democrat. Last week I put my career on the line to testify about the Hunter Biden investigation before the House Oversight Committee. I was raised a Christian. My parents consistently pressed me to do what was right, a mantra I carry with me to this day. Experience has taught me that doing what is right sometimes makes you unpopular. My decision to come forward was solely based on the hope that my testimony would serve as a call for accountability and reform.

Biden Censored Facebook
The Wall Street Journal confirms that Facebook acquiesced to pressure from the White House in the spring and summer of 2021 to delete and/or demote posts claiming the origins of COVID-19 were man-made. A Facebook vice president is quoted as saying, “We were under pressure from the administration and others to do more. We shouldn’t have done it.”
While Facebook ultimately reversed course, the Biden administration pressured them to police COVID content even more stringently. Satirical sites publishing posts questioning the safety or effectiveness of the vaccine were the top pieces of content the White House wanted to be deleted. To Facebook’s credit, they said no.
