Last night, tragically, a military helicopter collided with an American Airlines jet landing at Washington-Reagan National Airport from Wichita, KS.
News began to circulate about the crash, with surveillance video of it from the Kennedy Center, at about 9:28 p.m. A little over thirty minutes later, CNN political commentator and Democrat strategist Bakari Sellers rushed to blame Donald Trump as the situation was still being assessed. I have to start with Bakari because just yesterday I played a clip of him from CNN and said Democrats needed to listen to his advice. But…uhhh…if this is your gut reaction to run with after a tragedy, probably not.
Wildly, to believe Sellers, Donald Trump’s pause on hiring Air Traffic Controllers somehow caused a crash. For the record, becoming a fully certified Air Traffic Controller takes at least two years. A pause eight days ago would not have mattered. He deleted his tweet and apologized, unlike others. But it is a bit mind-blowing that his first reaction was to rush to partisan blame.
Sellers, it should be noted, was actually beaten to it by David Freedlander of both Politico and New York Magazine, who went ghoulish at 9:45pm.
Leslie Abravanel, another member of the media, also blamed Trump within thirty minutes of the crash.
Down in Nashville, New Channel 5’s Phil Williams joined in the partisan rush of ghouls just over an hour after the plane crash.
The national media is doing a really good job of discrediting itself and showing just how infested it is, with progressive partisans quick to blame Republicans and, in particular, Donald Trump. Not a single conservative rushed to point out the FAA is heading to trial because it refused to hire qualified air traffic controllers because they were white. That happened when Obama was President, and the trial started this year. It is not relevant to the situation any more than a Trump order from eight days ago is relevant.
It’s just so ghoulish to rush in and blame the other side politically. I’ve been pretty consistent in pointing out Republicans and Democrats alike doing this to each other. When the immediate response is to rush to social media to blame the other side instead of praying for those involved, there’s just a soul sickness.
People who worship God turn to prayer in tragedy. People who worship government turn to politics in tragedy.
There is something profoundly disturbing happening on the left right now. They are rapidly heading towards violence. Will Stancil is a progressive commentator who went on a wildly unhinged rant on BlueSky, the leftwing thought bubble machine.
Just look at the data from when I screenshotted it. Over 1,000 people liked it, and 203 people recirculated it. Those numbers keep growing.
Stancil believes Trump supporters really want to kill people and end the United States.
He believes Trump really wants to “set the Constitution on fire.”
The left is just not handling this well.
You’ve got a Democrat pundit blaming Trump for a plane crash within about thirty minutes of the tragedy. You’ve got a popular online commentator declaring Trump supporters want to kill people and destroy the nation.
This is the sort of stuff that festers in the heart and leads people to violence.
Quinnipiac released a new poll yesterday. The Democratic Party is the least popular it has been in a very long time, and the GOP is the most popular it has been.
Democrats just are not handling any of this well. They are going to turn violent. Two people have already tried to assassinate Donald Trump. It is only going to get worse, and there is not a living Democrat willing to stand up and calm down the base. They only egg them on.
THIS: " People who worship God turn to prayer in tragedy. People who worship government turn to politics in tragedy." Open our eyes Lord Jesus.
What a sad state of affairs. They are fanning the flames of hate because they have nothing else. Whatever happened to being civil to one another.
Pray for the victims and their families and stop the finger pointing.
Dear Lord what has happened to us?
