The Winter of Death Comes For the Democrats This November And The Reverse Racism of the Trucker Protests

The CNN poll is devastating for Biden. 56% of Americans say Biden has done nothing to improve their lives. His popularity is underwater by fifteen points with 57% disapproving of his job.

Biden needs to pivot. He came in pledging to be a competent uniter and has instead come across as a dementia-riddled divider, an incompetent corn pop. But there’s a problem.

When Biden ran, he was the only guy who could beat Trump. Progressives did not like him. Moderates thought he was the safe option. They all went with him to beat Trump. He did that. But the guy who promised to bring people together decided to go left.

Since getting in office, Biden has repeatedly forced the moderate Democrats to bend left. He got the left to go along for the infrastructure bill only by promising to lean hard on getting the rest of their agenda passed. He got his COVID stimulus passed despite mainstream economists warning about inflation. He listened to the Modern Monetary Theory Marxists instead and MMT is now dead from a lack of credibility.

If Biden goes to the center now, he’s going to piss off the progressives and we’re in for a bloody fight in Democrat primaries that costs them the money they need to stay on defense. He’s stuck. But he is stuck in a position of maximum vulnerability that benefits Republicans.

To head to the center might help his moderates, but they’d have to expect attacks from the left just as they’re about to get slaughtered by the GOP.

A couple of months ago, Joe Biden said we were in for a winter of death. It was a message of despair and helplessness. Kamala Harris echoed Jimmy Carter’s own word choices for the gloom out there. They expected COVID destruction. While COVID soared, the death totals, though increasing, were not as awful as feared. Now, in the middle of this so-called Winter of Death, the Democrats are rushing to get people out of masks and back to normal as possible. Here’s a picture of the scientific data that has changed their minds.

It is an opportunistic ploy by the Democrats because they know the voters have decided to postpone the Winter of Death for November 8, 2022, at the ballot box.

The other problem Democrats have now is that progressives live in such a Karen panicked fear of COVID, the progressive voters themselves are going to punish Democrats for dropping COVID mandates. The progressives see the political opportunism here too. They are in abject fear of death from the virus and their hero politicians are abandoning the fight. There’ll be hell to pay on that front too.

The Reverse Racism of the Truckers

Why do members of the media hate small business owners?

When small business owners of America protested in April of 2020, reporters on all the non-Fox networks ridiculed them as selfish and entitled. The protests were peaceful and calm. The business owners wanted to go back to work.

Media anchors and pundits blasted them. Some said if the small business owners got COVID they should be denied treatment.

A few months later, the George Floyd protests broke out and the protests turned violent. The media worked overtime to excuse the violence and put it in some sort of deluded context.

Now, Canadian truckers are shutting down bridges and commerce in protest of vaccine mandates.

Yet again, the media is furious. If the truckers were shutting down bridges to protest climate change, the media would love it. We know because it has been done. Hell, a week or so ago in Europe, climate alarmists superglued themselves to the highway.

Much of the media has resorted to a tactic they used against the Tea Party protests of 2010 — they have found the few fringe elements and declared them the majority. I had a friend in 2010 who dressed like a Confederate at a Tea Party protest to bait reporters. Every time a reporter came to talk to him, he lectured the reporter on how the reporter went straight to him and ignored the massive multi-racial crowd. The media is doing the same to the truckers.

But the truckers are in it to win it and the media is beside themselves.

Look, I find all disruptive protests bad. I think grinding the auto industry to a hault and blocking safe passage across bridges is bad. But I’m consistent on that even as I respect the truckers wanting to protest.

The media, however, only seems to like protests if the protestors are non-white or environmental zealots. If the truckers were smashing small businesses and looting and wearing George Floyd t-shirts, they’d be given a pass. Instead, they’re just blocking a bridge so they’re public enemy number one.

The double standard is striking and unfortunate. The media has routinely and reliably condemned small business owners suffering under COVID restrictions and the media has routinely and reliably given a pass to violence in the name of civil rights. There’s some racism in that whether they want to admit it or not.

The Masks

Can we get rid of them on airplanes now?

The CDC says the cloth masks everyone wears are not effective anymore. The FAA still makes you wear them unless you have a drink in your hand. The major airlines say they really are not needed due to the airflow rate and filtration on planes. Before masks, we had no super spreader aviation events. Now, infected people keep their masks off and slowly eat peanuts and we have no super spreader events. “But wait!,” you say, “the non-infected have on their masks.”

But the actual science shows an uninfected person wearing a mask has little protection against an infected person not wearing a mask. Still, we’ve had no viral spread on planes of unmasked infected people eating.

Can we please get rid of the masks on planes? They make no sense now.
