We Cannot Reject Sabotage On Rail Lines Just Yet
There has been another derailment. This time outside of Detroit. One of the train cars had hazardous materials on board. This comes after the Ohio derailment and two others in Texas and South Carolina.
The Biden Administration claims it is not sabotage but is Donald Trump’s fault. Via CNN and helpfully pushed out by leftwing Media Matters, the administration claims Trump’s team, led by former Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, rolled back an Obama-era rule on train brakes. The rule was rolled back because there was no meaningful difference in train brakes, but there was a giant cost increase.
Curiously, trains did not start derailing in the Trump Administration. The trains waited for Biden to be President to start jumping tracks, just like Putin waited for Biden to be President to invade Ukraine. But the Biden team, like with Ukraine, blames Trump for the derailments.
Meanwhile, Pete Buttigieg wants you to know there are about 1000 train derailments a year, and the one in Ohio has just gotten too much attention. Not kidding.
The one thing Biden is very adamant about is that this is not sabotage. They said the same about the NOTAM system crashing a few weeks ago, grounding air travel for the first time since 9/11. It was just a hardware/software install error that then curiously happened the next day in Canada and had previously happened in the Phillipines.
But it is not sabotage.
This is not a matter of conspiracy theories. This is a matter of the Biden Administration losing all trust. To understand why we must revisit the Chinese balloon with this curious paragraph from a Washington Post story on Tuesday.
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has sent spy balloons over Guam before, as well as Hawaii, to monitor U.S. military installations, officials have said. But the days-long flyover of the continental United States was novel, and it sparked confusion inside the Chinese government as diplomats scrambled to disseminate a cover story that the balloon had been blown off course while it was collecting innocuous meteorological data, U.S. officials said.
The Post story begins with this: “By the time a Chinese spy balloon crossed into American airspace late last month, U.S. military and intelligence agencies had been tracking it for nearly a week, watching as it lifted off from its home base on Hainan Island near China’s south coast.”
Lie No. 1
If you will recall, the Administration claimed originally that it had not discovered the balloon until it was over the Aleutian islands.
Now, the Administration admits it observed the balloon from launch.
Lie No. 2
The Administration, after the blowback of failing to shoot down the balloon, claimed a Chinese spy balloon traversed the continental United States under Donald Trump’s Administration, even though such a flight was not discovered until Biden became President.
Now, as you can see in the paragraph above, the Biden Administration described it as “novel.”
Lie No. 3
The Administration contended that it was too dangerous to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon once it was over land, and it had to traverse the entire continent and cross into the Atlantic before it could be shot down.
Subsequently, the Administration shot down three objects. But now it turns out those objects were not Chinese spy balloons at all. So the actual spy balloon could not be shot down, and the non-spy balloons could zealously be shot down, some over land.
Now, the NOTAM system has crashed once, and multiple trains carrying hazardous materials have lept from train tracks. The Administration that lied repeatedly about the Chinese spy balloon wants us to trust them on it not being sabotage, just Trump. And look what we have here — an electrical panel failure at JFK Airport sparked a fire that shut down aviation out of Terminal One there. Undoubtedly, Trump canceled some regulations that would have prevented paint cans from being stored in utility closets next to electrical panels and it is his fault, not hackers.
In 2021, the FBI had open investigations on 41 eco-sabotage attacks in Washington state alone. One involved a sabotage of a major train line in 2020. That is not the only suspected rail line sabotage in the past few years.
Unfortunately, the Biden Administration itself only likes to publicly confront violence from the right. So even if it were sabotage, the Biden Administration would be prone to downplay it unless it can be blamed on Trump supporters.
The reality is these incidents are probably not sabotage. Buttigieg, for all his whining, has a point. There are many train derailments every year. We’re more sensitive to them now because of media exposure.
But the point is that this Administration regularly tries to blame Donald Trump for everything, has lied repeatedly in the past few weeks about the Chinese spy balloon, has done such a bad job dealing with these issues too many Americans now know the Transportation Secretary’s name, and we simply cannot believe them.
Again, they said the Chinese spy balloon wasn’t detected and now we know they were watching it the whole time. They said a continental transit happened under Trump and now say this one was novel.
They just aren’t honest and they are backed by a left-leaning press corps that also told us Hunter Biden’s laptop was fake because Joe Biden and his experts said so. Those experts are now saying there’s no sabotage.
How can we believe them
