While I Was Gone
I’ve been on vacation since before Christmas and need to get a few things off my chest.
I try not to speak ill of the dead so I’ll keep this brief: I have nothing nice to say about Jimmy Carter and I am not alone. In fact, if you look at group pictures of former presidents, the Bushs, Clintons, and Obamas are usually glad-handing together with their spouses while Jimmy Carter is ostracised off to the side. He was a bad President and a worse former president who never met an American enemy he didn’t want to normalize.
But the same people on the left who are eulogizing the greatness of Jimmy Carter are the ones claiming that the events of January 6th rank somewhere between the Holocaust and 9/11 in terms of terribleness. They are currently online posting apocalyptic eulogies about the four-year anniversary while warning of the troubles ahead with Trump’s return to office.
Meanwhile, many on the right are obsessing over conspiracy theories from a fringe podcast about a deranged man in Las Vegas who blew himself up in front of Trump’s hotel. But many of my conservative friends are so obsessed with this story that they have missed that the perpetrator of the New Orleans attack was a former military officer who was radicalized by ISIS. Thank you Erick for "speaking the TRUTH about Mr. Carter". He was everything you genorously described in you remarks and even worse. I am an 84 yr Georgian and can definitely recall his first effort for Governor that went by way of DEFEAT to none other than Lester Maddox who was constantly scandalized by the AJC. BUT MR. CARTER'S WORST ACCOMPLISHMENT WAS TO CREATE "THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION" AND HOUSE IT IN DC. THAT MOVEMENT WITH THE LIBERAL PEOPLE HE PUT IN CHARGE HAS DESTROYED THE EDUCATION THAT OUR FORE FATHERS CREATED. Yes, Mr. Carter turned out to be the worst President until Uncle Joe was inaugurated. Thank goodness Biden ONLY has two more weeks.
