Why Do Democrats Want to Give Federal Money to Marjorie Taylor Greene?

I’m not a Marjorie Taylor Greene fan, in the same way, I’m not a fan of the so-called “Squad.” She’s needlessly provocative, not that bright, and spends more time playing at being a legislator than legislating. She is the Maxine Waters of the GOP.

She’s also not nearly as bad as the left claims, mostly going out of her way to troll the left with outlandish claims that provoke them in the way AOC does with Republicans. She says bat crap crazy things that get the left salivating and her base in defense mode and away she goes with the fundraising machine. Like AOC, she’s turned the stupid crap she says into a fundraising juggernaut and the media helps her do it.

It is all acting on a stage.

To the left, she is anathema. The left believes that there is no one on the Democrat side as bad as Marjorie Taylor Greene when, in fact, they have a long list of ridiculous, outlandish, and offensive trolls who live under bridges waiting to burn them. At least Marjorie Taylor Greene is, at the end of the day, strongly pro-America and not out to peddle the 1619 mythology, advance critical race theory, or sell out our allies to terrorists.

The difference between the political left and you and me is that while they scream all day about Marjorie Taylor Greene, they also want to provide her a federally funded political campaign. Under HR 1, the federal government would direct millions of your taxpayer dollars to fund Marjorie Taylor Greene’s political campaign. In fact, they would even take away the Republicans’ ability to carve out a district making Greene more vulnerable to challenge. Greene lives in a solidly Republican district that, if nonpartisan commissions drew it, would maintain its strong Republican allegiance in ways that keep Greene safe.

Democrats bellyache about Green because she is useful to them. The Democrats believe they can use her to define the GOP as racist, insane, and out of touch. She has become a daily news topic with her outlandishness in ways Democrats think can alienate suburban voters from the GOP. They play up her statements as if she is more than who she actually is while downplaying comments from people like Maxine Waters. Democrats think trotting out Greene’s statements on a daily basis will somehow distract Americans from closed schools, crime waves, and overwhelmed borders — all of which Greene has fought against, by the way.

Democrats also want the federal government to fund Greene’s political aspirations. The difference between the left and right is the left may think Greene is the second coming of Hitler, but they’ll gladly use federal taxpayer dollars to keep her in office, subsidizing the supposed Hitler wannabe.

That’s the absurdity of HR1, now winding its way through the Senate for consideration. Every time a reporter or Democrats complains about Greene, Republicans should want to know why, if she really is so terrible, the Democrats are committed to using your money and mine to keep her in office.

Democrats like to bellyache about Marjorie, but they’re the ones who want to fund her political aspirations.
