There are a lot of progressives on BlueSky, Twitter, and elsewhere declaring the end to their family relationships. Some are struggling to love their kids who decided to vote for Trump.
It is so much easier to not be a Christian. You get to pick and choose whether or not to honor your father and mother. You don’t have to love your neighbor. So many secularists think Christianity is a cop out for things. Actually, being a Christian means you can’t just declare an end to your relationships because of a vote. You’ve still got to love your neighbors, even the difficult ones. How easy it is to live a life as someone who does not believe.
Here’s what I mean…
"The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried." - G.K. Chesterton
I am a Jew. It is very challenging outside my Orthodox sphere. My Conservative and Reform friends think I'm crazy and restricting myself from a lot of the joys in life. I went on a Kosher cruise from Barcelona and they told me not to wear my Kippah from the hotel to the synagogue because of anti-Semitism. I am one who try's to avoid conflict at all cost but I wore my Kippah proudly.
We cannot let anyone intimidate us because of our religious convictions. G-d put us on this earth to create a dwelling place with morality.
