One simple example of the out-of-touchness* of the media is something I hear almost every day. When speaking of traffic, the workday, etc., the term almost always used is "the office."

They presume that the majority of Americans work in offices. Maybe its as much as 10%. And they simply cannot understand that.

*- whoopee, I coined a new term !

My biggest concern now is how soon before "someone" tries to accomplish what failed in Butler, PA.

I am seeing calls for "unity" now that we've won.

No.

They spent four years pursuing their political opponent through every means possible to prevent him from possibly being able to mount a campaign and, astoundingly, do what he did which is get re-elected.

I refuse to permit them back into the fold just because they lost. However, if they would like to admit their faults, apologize, and ask for forgiveness, I will relent and permit them back into the fold of polite society. Unless and until then, they can pound sand. They do not deserve to be let back in simply because they lost. I have zero spoons to give for what is going to come. They set the precedence. Now, they can reap what they have sown and I will watch as they are treated as they demonstrated to others how they believe it is okay to treat their political adversaries.

You cannot hold the position that Trump is Hitler, a tyrant, a dictator that won't leave office, we very probably won't get to vote again, a threat to democracy and America herself, a racist, a bigot, etc., etc., etc., and not also be ok with or even wishing for someone to assassinate him.

If you believe the former you desire the latter.

If you believe the former and say you don't desire the latter you are a lier.

I wonder if Biden is going to try and slap Trump on the ass when they meet up.

All I can say is…WOW! Listened to your broadcast on my way home and you said everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that needed to be said. I know you expect to be lambasted for it, but consider yourself the spokesperson for some of us former Haley fans who helped take Trump over the finish line. His economic policies matter more than joy. Let’s roll.

I would say the Democratic Party needs to take a hard look in the mirror and have an honest conversation with themselves on how they miserably failed, but most of them are so narcissistic and have such intense TDS that they'll just stand there, cry, play the victim role, and scream how racist the country is.

Erick, I'm a relative newcomer to your show but I wanted to thank you so much for your insightful commentary. You've given me a depth of understanding to this election cycle I would not have gotten any other way. I really appreciate you, and keep telling others.

I hate labeling people.

"Neurotic white progressive women and gay men" NWPWGM. The unattractiveness of that acronym matches my feelings about the cohort of political people it represents.

I actually didn't see a single thing to disagree with in your commentary. For the first time in my life, I turned to "The View" for about 4 minutes today. Where I see the ladies there still have no idea that they are a big part of the problem.

It's a stretch to call them "ladies."

Yes. I was being particularly magnanimous today.

I loathe the Bidens not for policy differences but because I believe that Hunter was the conduit through which Joe received millions of dollars from foreign players, including our greatest threats, the communist party of China.

That said, despite the fact that there will be no recognition or appreciation for the action, I completely agree that an arrangement to pardon Hunter AND his father would be an appropriate first step to governing like a grown up and dispelling all of the retribution lies.

POST SCRIPT: Prosecuting Hillary Clinton for her part in the Russian dossier and for her destruction of subpoenaed evidence, as well as possessing classified information on a private, unsecured server, is not retribution, it is justice. The same is true of cleaning the deep state players out of the Justice Department, the FBI and the CIA, and revoking ALL security clearances that these treasonous traitors might still have. And let's not forget to fire Jack Smith immediately, who has no constitutional authority to be in his current role.

One more thing. Whether you believe that Trump will be a fascist or not, the DECADES of Dems calling everyone right of center a "fascist" has become a "boy who cried wolf" tale.

That dog won't hunt anymore, right or wrong.

The biggest lesson the Dems need to learn is the one they will refuse to learn.

If the Dems keep thinking they are better people than the rest, they will continue to be a turnoff for those who don't buy in. Shame may--MAY--work to keep people in their cult, but it won't recruit new blood. The "you suck if you don't vote for us" argument is not winsome at all. It's insulting, and appears desperate once you rinse off the BS.

Related to that, if you blame men/whites/GenXers/libertarians/etc. for your electoral woes, don't be surprised when they fulfill that prophecy.

Related to that, just like you shouldn't patronize Blacks or Latinos or women, you shouldn't patronize men or other demographics, either. The Dem "outreach" to men has been incredibly cringe.

Trump may come across as a shady used-car dealer. He may actually be a shady used-car dealer. But at least he's not insulting you as soon as you get onto the car lot.

I am a conservative gay man. I am not as scarce as a unicorn, despite what some other conservatives might imagine. Many of us are responsible citizens who share the values of most Republican voters. Some of us go to church, we take care of our elderly or needy family members, we lead productive lives. We do not subscribe to the religion of transgenderism--as a matter of fact, no less a person than Andrew Sullivan (not otherwise someone with whom I much agree) has pointed out that the gay establishment's embrace of transgender nonsense has caused an increase in homophobia in recent years. I do not doubt that Erick is right that there are gay men disproportionately represented in the left wing (that is to say, practically the entirety of) media, but they are far less representative as one might imagine.

Mark, my personal experience supports what you say. I have many gay men friends, and out all of them all I know only ONE democrat loyalist. They despise the link between homosexuality and transgenderism, want the same freedoms and economic opportunities that I have, and are repulsed by the "Pride" events that make the community look like comic book characters. They just want to live their lives and not be identified by their sexuality, but by their character.
