The crap hadn’t hardly hit the fan when I started getting fund raising from Gaetz We don’t have a large majority and so we shoot ourselves with this stuff We need leaders the congressman from Florida is not one

I don't know! Did McCarthy just do what he had to do to prevent a shutdown? I did and do not like that

the speaker of the house is from California we already had that. I don't like making Ukraine a sock puppet to fight Putin. We don't have an unconditional win sense WW2. We haven't been destroyed

in a nuclear war yet like we grew up fearing in the 60's. Are we just going out with a whimper? There are

lots of politicians that talk a good game but very few who have been able to lead with success. Ronald

Regen and Donald Trump are the two that impressed me.

Yes, the Republican alternative is less likely to want abortion on demand, and give a blank check to Ukraine. WTF cares?

The majority of America is socially to the left of consecutives. The only reason the GOP wins is because of the economy.

Most people don't understand the national debt. When it comes to our southern border we have reached Stalin's position, A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.

A few illegals coming across the boarder can be understood, the numbers we have now are abstract.

Anyone against funding Ukraine is probably against it because they want to be isolationists, not because is the national debt.

Anything that Republicans do that hurts the economy more than Bidenomics is STUPID. Biden will use this to blame the Republicans for the economy.

Gaetz should be stripped of all committees, authority, and sidelined. I don't know what can be done except not reelect him.

I see. 🤔 You really don’t like McCarthy, but you really don’t like Gaetz either. You should run for speaker if Kevin gets the boot. I’m sure that you can herd cats better than they can. 🤪🤪🤪

Erick, I’ve not heard anyone make the point you’ve made about Gaetz voting to ditch the 8% cut position. Could have missed it on news programs, but your point should be a rather easy one to make to show Gaetz is in this for himself. We can’t have this with what’s at stake. We have such a tenuous hold in the house, all the Republicans must hold together, and they all have to realize that what we can obtain now will not be ideal. Getting something is better than getting nothing and Gaetz, I think, needs to be disciplined.

"McCarthy could pledge to advance the individual appropriations bills."

Didn't he already pledge to do that in his bid to become Speaker?

This reminds me of why I no longer vote Libertarian. They had some good messengers back in the 90s, a la Harry Browne and looked like they might actually grow the party. But, many could not take a step back and look at the reality in front of them with regard to what they could achieve and now the party is full of bat shite crazy leaders.

After reading this, I am further convinced that we have reached the burn-it-all-down point with our federal government.

Our otherwise-exceptionally talented and intelligent founders suffered from gross naivete, expecting that fallen men could "keep a republic", since we are far from being "moral and religious".

This is why conservatives don't trust republicans. It is a constant stream of Bu11$#!t. Enough is enough. They really are no different than Democrats, it is about power and fame for all of them, Dems and Republicans

Our inability to live anywhere to close to within our means as a nation is a disgrace for both political parties. Whenever the Republicans make noise about the debt/deficit it always seems to be performative. If it weren't performative why do they not have that same energy about the debt when they have control of government? The Democrats never seem to care about deficit spending under any circumstances. How does no one see a link between us spending money we do not have and inflation? Since democrats seem to care so much about following the science on issues (climate change, covid, etc.) we should rally the economist/expert community explain to everyone where we are headed with our current out of control spending addiction - the answer is austerity and pain for our children / grand children.

The Gaetz Bois got a twofor on this one. They got to attack McCarthy but they also got to smear the House Freedom Caucus. Establishment Republicans are a cancer and waste no time making Conservatives look bad. Gatez I'm sure relished the idea of making them look bad as a bonus to his attack on McCarthy. The Trump wing of the party is rapidly using up any good will I have toward them. If they do to our 2024 chances what they did to our chances of getting real cuts to the budget I'll go scorched earth on them at the expense of all else and that will be just as bad.

Their actions show what they really believe. They appear to be for themselves and not the country. I can’t stand people who are full of 💩.

I've already seen this clown show. It's a rehash of "You Know Nothing, John Boehner" and "Paul Ryan Goes to Washington (And Sells Out)."

Even Mark Levin is criticizing Matt Gaetz for crying out loud. I don’t think Donald Trump is which should tell you something.

I swear, we truly are the STUPID party made up of a bunch of middle school mean girls. I can NOT stand Gaetz…..he is oily, just like Al Gore……and I hope he gets what he deserves. I remember him on Tucker’s show right after the sexual allegations against him surfaced. He tried to pull Tucker into his web of defense and Tucker was having none of it. Oily.

He certainly resembles Narcissus in his behavior.

Intentional, carefully planned result or unforced error? Kabuki theatre? The truth is not in politicians so how do we ever know? But isn’t it funny how EVERY SINGLE political struggle in Congress ALWAYS inures to the benefit of the left? Always. Erick, when you talk about these epic congressional struggles such as the federal budget, don’t you ever get that sense - that still small voice - that you’re the guy calling moves in the professional wrestling match?

Yep, the WWE of DC. The "entertainers" enter the ring in great fanfare, grab the nearest mic to talk smack about their opponent, then go to work on their scripted show that sees them jumping off the top rope in spectacular fashion and breaking chairs over each other's backs. But at the end of the night they throw an arm around each other, have a beer, and laugh because we think it's real.
