We have a real spiritual problem in our country! Too many are worshipping a false god. Too many in power are propagating heresies from long ago pagans. Too many lost sheep wandering in the wilderness latching onto the heresies and false gods of this world! We all need to be more like Charlie and shine the light of Christ wherever we can. Thru truth and love! Only Christ can fix this country!

God bless you for writing so well about our national situation, Erick. We do need to be the Light. There ARE crazies all around. So we will win this battle on our knees, in prayer and Holy Scripture, and yes loving your neighbor as you love yourself and Jesus. Do lock your doors, do look all around you as you go to work, play or church. And, if you get the sense something isn't right, don't turn your back on it. Call it out. I think about the three young men in a row, just behind Iryna on the subway - they turned their backs as the murderer walked by them dripping blood on the floor. I think about the people who overcame the terrorists on Flight 93, and gave their lives to save whatever target evil had in its scope. Love and prayers for all affected by the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Prayers and sympathy for Charlie Kirk and his family. What a loss - he was doing such a great job. I think he would have been President one day! Be God's Light. Prayers for all of us.

I saw a comment on NextDoor (a non-political neighborhood app) this morning asking if anyone knew of any gatherings for Kirk, and the poster was bombarded with hateful responses about how bad Kirk was and sarcastic questions about if the poster was also concerned about other recent murders. It never ceases to amaze me how deranged some people can be in times of tragedy.

Praying for the Lords comfort and peace to be bestowed on Charlie's family as I am most assured he was met by our Lord and Savior with the blessing of "Well done my good and faithful servant" -- MARANATHA!!

Let's not forget Shane Devon Tamura who killed Wesley LePatner, a highly-respected leader at Blackstone, and the left proclaimed that she deserved to die. She was a wife and mother.

"Democrats jump to 'both sides do it'" because it's *true.*

But I don't see them actually trying to stop their side, or condemn the continual barrage of over the top dangerous comments. There are many legitimate complaints you can have about Trump but they mostly fail to do that, it is complete doomsday, want to or will: kill the planet, kill trans, kill illegals, etc. Mental health is an issue, constant bombardment of the above "opinions" stated as facts especially by the media & Congress is basically brainwashing them and feeding into their fears. Conservatives do get angry but we rarely cause riots, burn & loot and destroy things. We want to work within the system, are busy with jobs & families. The crazies on both sides that call for violence need to be rigorously condemned by their parties, organizations and by Congress who is supposed to represent us. This is not who most Americans are, we do not hate we want solutions.

Erick, now I worry for your safety. Please stop announcing where you will be going. And you need a security detail. Praying for you.

Every high profile conservative should be taking precautions.

The Left has made political assassination commonplace and acceptable in their realm. Everyone is at risk..... conservatives especially, but even those liberals who are not deemed to be liberal "enough" for the Left-wing.

I agree we should pray for Kirk's family. What angers me the most is the politicians and talking heads are NEVER held accountable for the evil they spew.

My other sentiment regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk is that the shooter and any others responsible should be made to bleed out like what they did to Charlie. That type of shot is meant to allow the victim to live long enough to know they are dying. The cold blooded manner in which this was carried out should make every American shudder. It's as bad as the Kennedy assassination in that we have actors in our government that are capable of this level of shear depravity and evil. If it wasn't clear before, it should be crystal clear now why the left is so enamored and beholden to a group like Hamas, as they are simply two sides of the same coin, evil incarnate. And in the Bible, there are only two ways to deal with evil. You either convert it, or you destroy it.

In Church speak*, there is the church triumphant in heaven, the church suffering in purgatory (for those who subscribe to that theology), and the church militant here on earth, militant meaning the antagonistic relationship between the church and the world, as the church works to overcome the imperfect and sinful aspects of human existence.

The church’s mission is not to oppose the world and society, but to work for their transformation by the powerful preaching of the Gospel and the edifying power of the good works and example of those who are baptized into Christ.

With that, it's abundantly clear that Charlie Kirk was doing God's work, and that makes him a legitimate martyr for the faith. Charlie indeed entered through the narrow gate.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May Charlie Kirk rest in peace. Amen

[*Credit to Msgr. M. Francis Mannion for much of the Church speak above.]

To achieve a head shot from 200 yards tells us this was a professional hit job. The assassin will probably never be found. A sad state of affairs for our nation.

Cheesefrog's avatar

I would say not a professional hit job but done by someone who has used long range rifles before. A pro would have done this in a manner where he would be be untraceable, and not in such a public space. Authorities already have camera footage and have tracked the assassin's movements, so I am hopeful that he will be caught soon.

JD Holmes's avatar

I really hope so.

Joe Hatfield's avatar

There's many conflicting reports as to whether or not the assassin has been caught..

TravlnSuz's avatar

I listened to the FBI this AM in a press conference and while they have tracked the assassin to a neighborhood, they are canvassing it for RING video etc. and still asking for the public's help.

Charlie Kirk heard a call—to “go to the campuses of our nation.” Everyone has a call/a purpose. Our nation needs help. What is your call to help our nation? What are you hearing?? And the call is for all, no matter age or circumstance.

Any change has to start with me. I've been known to say that some on the left are evil. They are. Some on the right are evil as well. Because there IS evil in this world and evil doesn't discriminate like humans do.

I recently returned from Poland where I visited Auschwitz and Birkenau. I've also been to Dachau. All three concentration camps were near, if not surrounded by homes. It's mind-boggling that good people ignored the evil, that they didn't show love and compassion and understanding when they had the opportunity. That they believed Satan's lies. I don't want to be one of those people.

All I know is that I need to do a better job of trying to understand those I disagree with. If I look at others as Americans instead of the opposition, maybe I can start a dialogue with them. If you boil it down, most people probably agree on 80% of things - taking care of their family, having opportunities to succeed in their careers, enjoying life as best as possible. We just fundamentally disagree on how to do those things. But in conversation, I can try to find places of agreement. Charlie Kirk's death and the 9-11 anniversary reinforce that we - I - can and need to follow Jesus's command to love my fellow man, however hard it may be. God Bless us ALL.

From what I've read the people who lived near the death camps were stunned that they were being held culpable for what happened. It took the German people two years to accept that they were indeed a part of what went on around them.

It is such an amazing thing that all across our country the death of this 31-year-old man has already had such a profound impact, and by God's grace and plan, will continue to have in ways no one can yet imagine. Many have been praying for revival, both national and personal without which we can expect nothing but the judgment of God for our national and personal sins. It is time for preachers to bring, not therapy, but thunder to the pulpit. It is time for the saints to fall on their knees in the pews, in family altars, at work and wherever two or more are gathered in Christ’s name. May the church of the Lord Jesus Christ rise up lest we fall. Our enemy is not progressive democrats, nor even the individual who took the life of a good and godly man. He and they are our mission field. May God have mercy on us, and may what took place yesterday be not in vain.
