Vote for me or your cities burn? Sounds like that could apply to Trump 2020 also. Reps and Dems use the same playbook. WE NEED A REAL 3RD PARTY NOW! COMMON SENSE!
I agree that the Democrats have made a pattern of blaming everything on Trump. They may blame Trump for the fires in California. If cornered, they'll say, "It's just politics."
Here I comment about life in Philadelphia, PA - where I live. For about two months there has been a homeless camp near our Art Museum, which Sylvester Stallone made famous in the "Rocky" movies. The mayor's office says, "They have to go," but they stay. At least, as far as I know, there's been no violence connected with the homeless camp, but there is violence in the rest of the city, and children have died. A trash man today wore a T-Shirt, "If Black Lives Matter, Stop the Killing!" It will be interesting to see whether the homeless camp is still there in December, asking for blankets. There are rescue missions in the city, but I imagine that they are overwhelmed.
Trump is fiddling while Rome burns. It's laughable for someone to act as if he has no culpability at all. He is the president after all. Each side blames the other while NO ONE offers any solutions or outreach to the other side.
Yes. So now what? Im independent. Both parties suck. If there was a VIABLE 3rd common sense unifying candidate they would get my vote. Republicans are holier-than-thou hypocrites and Democrats have no sense of restraint just "do what thou wilt" nonsense.
Seems to me no matter who wins the election in November, these riots will NOT end well because leftist Democrat leaders didn't do their jobs when this first started!
Erick I'd like you to take some time to explain why the press is so liberally inclined and why so many population concentrations are Democratic. Why do so many choose to identify as Democrats. What's the attraction?
As news is their business, the press tends to be highly informed. Another left-leaning institution, academia, tends to be highly educated. One could draw a correlation between being highly informed or highly educated and a liberal rather than conservative perspective.
As for your question of why urban centers tend to vote Democrat, our cities tend to have larger minority populations. Speaking at least of black voters, who are actually quite conservative on a great many issues and who have arguably been failed by Democratic policies, it is the race-baiting of Republicans that keeps us loyal to the Democratic Party. Most recently, for example, Trump pledged to keep low-income housing out of the suburbs. Black folk read "low-income" as a dog whistle (that is, a racist statement disguised in non-racial language) reference to them.
I'm not Erick, but I thought I would take a shot at answering your question.
1. Urban areas tend to be intellectual bubbles where opposing views are shut down (i.e. cancel culture) leading to a unity of opinion by pseudo-force.
2. The press is like any profit-seeking business - it seeks the power and prestige of the largest markets, which are urban areas.
3. Urban areas are heavily influenced by anti-Biblical philosophies that became common with the German higher criticism of the 1800's, and accelerated with Darwin and the Marxists.
4. Once the Biblical standard of truth is done away with, truth becomes what you want it to be.
5. Thus the media can see burning buildings and destroyed neighborhoods and label the violent rioters as peaceful protesters because in their eyes, that is the truth.
It is a sad state of affairs, but nothing good happens when people abandon God.
I read the article you linked to. The protesters literally sound insane to me. They have lead a life of not really having to face anything challenging. So they are looking for something to give their life meaning I guess? To hell with who they hurt or what they damage. The article glazes over their trail of destruction and privilege.

Erick, did the media blame Obama for the 2014 riots in Ferguson, and the Baltimore riots in 2015?

Are any Trump supporters burning buildings?
What about cops shooting unarmed people in the back 7 times? Foh dude.
Huh? Are you discussing or trolling, JD? Grow up.

The violence is Trump's fault? This started in Ferguson (2014) and Baltimore (2015), while Obama was POTUS. Did the media blame Obama?
Trump 2020: The hellhole Biden makes will be even worse than the one I made.

Even the APA may someday have to declare TDS an actual mental disorder and put it on DSM-V when it comes out.
This violence is gigantic tantrum thrown by people who have been coddled their entire lives.
This is the path to reelection.
Whatever happened to peace on Earth good will toward men.
A Christian construct, therefore null and void :-P
So very true. Dems can't help themselves. The Don is leveraging every ounce.
