I believe I understand the game. If you step into the ring, you must be prepared to take the hits. President Trump will not hesitate to take advantage of any weakness Joe Biden presents. Yet--and here's my "question--at what point are we as believers morally compelled to extend grace to someone who as you rightly point out, is being abused by a party that is all-too-willing to set him up to fail? Biden's gaffes are legend. Yet it is disconcerting to the the political machine so flippantly throw someone who does have genuine credentials and has served our country to the proverbial wolves.....

I'll never forget the time I agreed to let the husband of a colleague practice his pitch selling paper products. Conversation drifted to politics, I expressed annoyance that NPR got taxpayer support to promote liberal positions. Mr. Budding Salesman got this smug look and reminded me that NPR, liberals, academia, and many professions had deemed themselves authorities on all matters, and he was with them. Their seal of approval was all he needed to win that argument. Trump alone stands as a counterexample to their self-deception - the rest of us egg him on quietly. Is it any wonder such an apostate to the core of liberalism would provoke such rage?
