At least one of the lawsuits filed by Powell was *rife* with misspellings, including the word “district”. If you file a lawsuit and it is full of misspelled words, NO ONE is going to take you seriously. Especially the judge who gets the case!
According to Forbes ( https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2020/12/07/sidney-powell-georgia-lawsuit-gets-thrown-out-in-court/?sh=72e636185ff7 ) this was the ruling in GA: "U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Batten dismissed the Georgia case in a hearing Monday, saying that the GOP plaintiffs “simply do not have standing to bring these claims” and waited too long to bring the lawsuit, which should have been brought in state court instead of federal court," which is basically a ruling that has no correlation to the evidence, but is based on the opinion that the claimants had no legal right to bring this evidence before this court.
Funny how the "rules" become critical when it favors the left's position. Conservatives continue to operate under Marquis of Queensbury rules while the left is full-bore MMA. Ah well. Come quickly Lord Jesus!
It is enormously hard to prove in advance of an election that somebody has already commited fraud in an election that is yet to be held - but apparently that is the catch-22 behind the legal doctrine of laches. And since election officials seem to hold the right to limit access to the bulk of evidence, that might prove fraud took place. or to delay access beyond artificial deadlines, it makes for a pretty airtight system for preventing anybody from finding election fraud in time to do something to stop it.
Yep. Having proactive plans and contingencies is the only means to catch it in time...and we certainly were not proactive, IMO. Given the crazy circumstances COVID-19 pushed into the election process, should have been a lot more alert and actively challenging behavior as it was happening.
Lesson learned - assume fraud, create scenarios and a plan to catch it as it occurs, be there to catch it before it slips through.
I don't think there was any proactive stuff that could have been done. If state election officials won't permit random signature audits done by handwriting experts after an election, there is no reason to believe they would be likely to permit that before an election. If judges toss cases based on lack of standing that are filed after an election, there is no reason to think they would not toss cases based on lack of standing filed before an election. As Mel Brooks said in one of his movies, "Gee it's good to be the King." And the system seems to be set up so that election officials function as Kings, deciding what evidence investigators can look at, with judges tossing all cases that dispute the rights of election officials to deny access to evidence that might be able to prove fraud (like a forensic analysis of voting machines and random signature audits). In effect, claims by election officials that there are no good reasons to investigate fraud seems to be enough to avoid an investigation to prove/disprove that possibility. It seems when election officials put in a plea of "not guilty" in terms of "possible election fraud" or "legal violations of election law" their pleas are simply accepted. Although that may be the way our human legal system is set up for resolving election disputes, I sincerely believe that God doesn't dismiss any case for lack of standing in appeals for justice made to him. God always seeks and always is sure of the complete truth and eventually his justice will make all things right.
By "proactive" I mean create plans, have them in place ready to go with overwhelming numbers including folks watching and riding election officials when they pull these stunts as they pull them. Go in with the assumption that every vote is a fraud candidate rather than a valid vote. That is much harder and also much longer to process.
The assumption that rules matter and are equally applied is how we conservatives operate. We seek to color inside the lines to remain above reproach, hoping the other side of the aisle is similarly inclined. Instead, the left seeks to find gaps in "the lines", loopholes, opportunistic exploits to employ. So-called "Mail-in voting" was nothing if not the greatest election exploit opportunity since Tammany Hall. We operate on different planes. Wise as serpents and innocent as doves - well, maybe not so wise, and maybe more naive than innocent.
As John Adams famously said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
As a nation, we abandoned external moral standards independent of our personal wishes and desires. As individuals, we either stand by said standards or become relativistic utilitarians. The left has no anchor, only their own opinions and desires. Without Christ, there's no reliable internal boundaries, without morals, there are not even internal boundaries, just what we want.
I think one of the issues conservative voters have is that a good many politicians allegedly on our side are not on our side. So election after electon, the GOP establishment has campaigned on installing judges supporting the Constitution, halting a flood of illegal immigration, and strippiing funding from Planned Parenthood, etc. Then Trump comes along and does essentially what the GOP has promised for decades, or tries his best to do it. The GOP voters love it and Trump's policies actually attract Democrats who aren't socialists and open-border fanatics, giving him a record number of about 74 million votes. But the GOP elites in the suburbs hate both Trump and his policies. This segment of the GOP doesn't really care what their base voters want (ala Jeb 2016), because they really dance to the tune of lobbyists feeding them boatloads of money. Probably about 5% of GOP members openly hate Trump (like the Bulwark and the Lincoln Project). But probably another 10-15% are content with talking a good conservative game but never show the desire to do what it takes to deliver conservative results. For example, the "severely conservaitve" Romney who despite his claim often seems to side with Democrats, who are the polar opposite of any conservaive political policy. The group of GOP suburbanites who voted for Biden are another example of this class of people. Urban areas of most states are dominated by Democrats, but there are a few states that are/were controlled by GOP members who are content to side with Democrats to get rid of Trump. So even though a mountain of evidence suggests that mail-in-voting is/was subject to fraud, the GA GOP has/had no desire to stop it, either before or after the election. As Stalin allegedly said, it is not who votes that counts, it is who counts the votes. And in this election, many of the people counting the votes in swing states and or setting election policy didn't want Trump to win. So the 74 million Trump voters basically had the proverbial middle finger waved at them by a set of people whose primary goal was to get rid of Trump and the political policies he fought very hard to implement. We may have lost this battle, but the war isn't over yet. And it still isn't clear that God will not intervene. God may not, and it may be a sign that we are headed towards the final showdown of Revelation, with a world or rebels intent on removing God from anything to do with people's actual lives. Either way, those on the side of God are ultimately going to win. And I don't think the policies of Biden and the Democrats provide much evidence that they are on the side of God.
This is all just a grifting effort by Trump to get money to pay off his debts.

The Great Experiment could be drawing to a close.
