Cleaning Up Conservatism
I need to have an uncomfortable conversation with fellow conservatives. There are 213 Republican members of Congress. 208 of them have a 90 rating or higher from the Heritage Action Scorecard. I like Heritage Action and believe there are good people over there. But conservative organizations are turning to advance Republicanism instead of conservatism.
Other organizations like the American Conservative Union gave 120 Republicans an award for scoring 80% or higher. Standing up to Biden should be like breathing. It’s just what you do, not how you get a gold star. The Republicans and Democrats just passed a multi-trillion dollar omnibus spending bill. The vast majority of highly rated Republicans who voted for this will keep their rating. Y'all, it’s time to clean up our side. Here’s more:
By the way, I can think of only two potential GOP presidential candidates who will stand against the establishment. One is Ron DeSantis, and the other rhymes with bump.
Good job Erick! One of the most frustrating things is that it feels as if nobody’s fighting for the things the party says it believes in. Where is leadership on the border? Where is leadership pounding the table saying how can we trust this administration with Russia-Ukraine after their inept Afghanistan performance. When does somebody stand up against the destruction of the economy due to out of control spending and the destruction of our energy industry. I think they’re afraid of getting called out by the corporate media. They go along to get along. They’re weak which is why the vast middle class has moved to Trump and America First policies. Seems to me that the only ones with any guts are the people pounding America First. And based on performance or lack thereof, I’m fine with this!
