The biggest idea is refusing to give money to attract these companies in the first place. Let’s not sell our State and our resources on the cheap.

Since every single article I’ve read about the bill references that it “shortened early voting times”, when is someone going to point out that Stacey Abrams voted for the bill to reduce early voting times from 45 days to 28 days in the 2011/2012 legislative session?

Thanks for the heads up on that. I wasn't aware that Stacey Abrams voted for voter suppression when she was in the Georgia legislature. :-)

Now that Abrams has become the Superstar of the Superwoke since her failed run for Governor...most people have forgotten that many Georgia Democrats were...shall we say "disenchanted" with her performance in the Georgia Legislature, and were raising questions of their own about her "voting" initiatives.

Just doing my little part. I downloaded the browser called ‘Brave’ on my computer and smart phone. Creator was fired from Firefox for supporting traditional marriage. Also, only use Duck, Duck, Go for internet searches. Stopped saying, “Let’s google that”, in order to avoid marketing for Google using their name as a verb. Enough people start doing that it may get noticed. Hitting them in the wallet is all I fear they will understand. Cancel culture is weak and sad. Liberal and conservative free speech should be protected. I’d never squelch a liberal’s voice. No idea why they feel they have to squelch mine, except maybe their arguments are...weak.

I made that switch months ago. It was worth it just for the privacy aspect. That I’m not helping Google make more money is a plus.

Do do agree with you all the time, but sometimes you are DAMN right, conservatives must stand up on this cancel culture. Company should be companies and stay the hell out of gov’t. If you get tax brakes and incentives then sit down and shut up or loose them. If you want to cater to the left, then play on making all your income from those people. I vote with my dollars! If enough people did that for a while we might see some board room changes. If we let it be known that the Sponsors of MLB’s All Game will not be seeing our dollars and sales numbers reflect it, may be we change a few things.

I have read the voting bill, the Governor is correct.

Sometimes I read - most times I read - what you post, Erick, and wonder if there are any Republican/Conservative leaders who read your blog. How do I get this into the hands of the AZ Governor and members of congress .... even local leaders need to hear these things. Just wondering.

Eric

With all due respect what happened to you? You are calling people crazy who are not. The Democrats are evil and hate America. I believe they do the things you call crazy. You hate Trump even though he is the only Republican who stands up to such evil. You can not reason with Democrats. There is no common ground. They are from Satan. They hate God. I truly believe your time at CNN influenced you in a bad way. To actually think you Dan reason with evil. You can not compromise with the Devil. Never ever. You of all people should know this.

Doug - Jesus is neither Republican or Democrat, and even though the Democrat leaders in Washington are "bat-shit crazy" they are not the devil. As followers in Jesus it is our place to pray for our government and God's intervention and will be done.... 'nough preaching.

You are correct. However the Democrat politicians are evil. They are following the Devil. The policies they believe in are straight from the Pitt of Hell. That’s why I say you can’t compromise with them.

I encourage people in Atlanta to not patronize Penzey's Spices. The owner clearly does not want individuals who are Republicans or conservatives to patronize his business. I sent back $50 in spices. I called the local store to complain and the store manager after saying, "Well, we have plenty of people who come because of that." I told him, but your owner does not have to be an asshole over it. He hung up and didn't even say so. There are plenty of other companies to acquire spices from. These people who have made politics their religion clearly are destined for hell, unless there is a change in perspective.

Not sure if Trump at the Braves Stadium sends the "get politics out of sports" message you're trying to send.

I find it incredibly frustrating what is happening. I attempted, on a morning coffee chat with co-workers, to "defend" my great state of Georgia after seeing Nightly News with Lester Holt attack the state's law with lies. (MSM news informs me of the left's position, and it precedes Wheel) One co-worker refused to listen and cut me off. The others were silent. Truth matters, but so many get "their truth" from MSM and the slant to the left is mind-boggling. Even in conservative Cherokee County the local free newspaper is now allowing left opinion pieces to be riddled with miss-truths and flat out lies. Erick, I ordain you brother, as the NEW LEAD PASTOR of The Church of the Painful Truth! Keep up the good work. (Boortz won't mind.)

Exactly Erick, but they go broke drop by drop as pissed off customers one by one stop doing business with these corporations. This is a put your money where your mouth (and thoughts) are. If you want to write a letter to the CEO stating that you just "canceled" them stating in clear, civil reasons why then all the better. In the letter go one step further and state how the company can win your business back: Namely, get the hell out of politics and stay out. It always helps to point out that the offending company has adopted a business model that will alienate half their customer base. Send a copy of the letter to a couple of the more sane board members. This stuff works.

Again, solid logic, solid advice and a clear direction Conservatives and Republicans must take. I thought all along that tax incentives are useless. Make solid, conservatively-based tax codes and people will come! Nicely put!

We got Donald Trump because "he fights". Can't we do something more constructive? This is all so tiring. Why can't we educate and speak rationally? Mock them if we must. But we won't win anyone over by being angry all the time and obsessing over things like obscure Dr Seuss books.

Expand full comment

We can't educate and speak rationally because the other side is not rational. If they were, the actual text of the GA law would end the argument.

Is the answer then never-ending escalation by both sides? Where will that get us?

Responding in kind to the left's various offenses against the civil society is unseemly; it's also, alas, necessary. We have tried rational argument, but rationally discussion with the terminally irrational is quite impossible.

I completely agree that companies who demand, yes demand tax benefits for moving to certain cities should be held accountable for their reckless statements.

I disagree, however, with your statement that this is "a logical consequence post-election crazy town mess..."

The entire 4 years of Trump's administration was leftist crazy-town BS. The media played along with lies about how they interpreted what Trump said, and the volume grew for 4 years. Now, with both houses and the Presidency, rather than the BS calming down, it is getting worse and worse. This appears to be the logical consequence of the right not calling BS on the left for all those years.

In fact, this concern has been mentioned in your pages for weeks now. Nice guys never win was my statement. If we continue to stay nice guys, things will get tougher.

The real "mess" part of that election is the goof balls who stayed home vs casting a vote in the senatorial runoff - I don't care what the impression is/was, not voting is pure idiotic.
