Melissa- I’m glad and appreciative. However, he won’t win without more of that age group giving him their vote, and there aren't enough reasonable conservative voters to overcome DJT.

Musk ticked off 90+% of the employees at Twitter when he took over. Most of those detest the idea of a President Desantis. Is it possible that maybe.. just maybe... they might have sabotaged things to deter as many people as possible the opportunity to hear Desantis speak? Its not like Twitter employees haven't tried to affect an election before.

I knew that’s what you meant. Just poking the bear. He doesn’t owe Mr.T anything. Except to show him the door.

Desantis has bigger issues than Twitter. All 4 of my grown children ages 27-33 think Ron hates Homosexuals. He better figure out how to reach that age group.

But none of the Conservatives will and we’ll be stuck with another communist.

I’m in that age group and most of my friends are as well and we know he doesn’t. Not wanting trans & their ideology in public school is not hate.

Hogwash! Me, the Twitter no nothing, heard the whole thing. I’m the one who called you today to find out how to listen and I succeeded. Then I thought I messed up and finally learned 15 minutes later there were so many people trying to listen on Musks account that it crashed Twitter. 500k I think. Don’t you think those are pretty big numbers? anyway I switched to my computer, musk switched to another host and “bingo” I listened till the end with a couple of missteps along the way. I heard so many great things and enjoyed the questions from several folks whose names I knew. There will be griping of course, but aren’t we all used to dropped calls, shut down computers and glitches in our internet service by now. Desantis came through loud and clear with a strong message and very good policy plans. I am convinced he can win and restore respect to our country and our sense of security through solid. I have a candidate I can throw my complete support behind. And throw the empty Trump in the trash!

I started listening about 6:25 and there were no problems with over 300K people listening. DeSantis was articulate and answered every question directly. I’d say it was a success

Hate to say it, but I believe you are completely wrong on this. I heard RDS addressing immigration questions. I didn’t tune in right at the moment , but as I check now, at 7:28 edt, there are 295,000 listeners right now. Again, I think the modern campaign has moved on. You should probably catch up.

And while I’m thinking about it, didn’t Musk recently launch a rocket that exploded, and call it a success?

Yes yes yes!

It came on shortly after Erick’s post, also just after the failure was noted on the BBC and tweeted by Joe Biden. Given what the DeSantis campaign has done with his campaign already, is it possible this was done on purpose to possibly get even more people listening? I’m not that smart so who knows?

I’m listening to it right now. Everyone will have forgotten about it in 48 hours.

By forgotten I mean about the technical difficulties. The conversation is pretty bold.

Completely agree!

I don't really care about any political launch. It's just theater as far as I'm concerned. I care about policies and the ability to get them across the finish line.

Will work itself out. Erick you have to restart watching Succession.

Terrible optics. I like him, but I think it’s not his time. Harbinger of things to come.

Two strikes and ‘almost’ out

Harbinger of great things to come. Trump better figure out how to be as straightforward and purposeful as RDS.

Expand full comment

Doubtful.

Yeah I doubt Trump can figure that out, too.

Trump hasn’t been able to figure it out since 2020, and it’s 2023. You’re probably right

He never learns

His time has come and gone. He has now become predictable.

Expand full comment

No. I meant harbinger of great things to come. DeSantis would have lost to a crack addict were it not for Trump. He’s best fighting Mickey. Not Xi. Different time…

Expand full comment

And trump will fight Xi? 😂😂

Fighting Mickey is so intellectually dishonest, he isn’t fighting Mickey Mouse, he’s fighting massive media corps involvement in local policy and the media leveraging massive mega corps to smear what the constituency voted for.

Oh please. DeSantis is a good Governor. Nothing more. He’s being propped up by donors and consultants that want to keep the status quo as it relates to their respective money making machines. I just hope they don’t destroy the guy’s career.
