Cory Booker Accomplished Nothing
Cory Booker broke Strom Thurmond’s record by speaking on the Senate floor for over 25 consecutive hours without leaving. While it’s satisfying to see Thurmond’s infamous filibuster against civil rights eclipsed, Booker’s marathon speech ultimately accomplished nothing.
You will notice that the media profiles on the subject are heavily focused on the semantics of the feat or the inspiration for the Democratic Party, because the action itself was a performative stunt. But the rudderless nature of the Democratic Party has created a power vacuum that Booker desperately wants to fill.
Meanwhile, while Booker was busy holding his bladder, Tim Kaine quietly built a bipartisan coalition to pass a resolution in the Senate to end the Trump policy on Canadian tariffs. But once again, Democrats seem more interested in rewarding stunts than delivering results. Watch
Glad to hear about the U. S. House doing its actual job in managing our finances with the tariff situation- it's a start.
As for Booker: that was obviously the beginning of his campaigning. Whatever he does, he's still a fool.
