Tax Credits - I recall a trip to Europe that the Taxi driver said he received a $17,000 Tax Credit on a $62,000 Mercedes. He also received favorable financing. That is another way favoring local businesses.

So why, oh why are we going to lose the House? I can’t see it unless Trump does something stupid to the economy. I just wish he would ease up the tariffs instead of going whole hog at once.

Well, Jonathan Last (aptonym) over at The Bulwark (big surprise) thought the Booker-a-thon was the most magnificent thing to happen in the Senate in a long time.

Want to "reach out" and thank The BookerMan yourself? Here ya go: https://www.thepetitionsite.com/309/979/240/thank-you-corey-booker/

Glad to hear about the U. S. House doing its actual job in managing our finances with the tariff situation- it's a start.

As for Booker: that was obviously the beginning of his campaigning. Whatever he does, he's still a fool.

Sorry Erick, got to part with you on this one. Accomplished nothing? This was his first campaign speech of the 2028 cycle-he just threw his hat in the ring. Democrats want him instead of Schumer? Media fawning over him, building national name recognition? Not a bad day if you’re Cory Booker.

He’s the second Democrat to unofficially declare. The first I noticed was my own Governor, JB Pritzker of IL. I saw one article’s headline refer to him as a “Superstar Governor” because he dissed Trump somehow. In fact, he’ll be looking to fail upward. If you want to see how admired Prickster is outside Chicago and Peoria, do a web search of “JB Pritzker butter cow.” But I digress.

The bigger point is you’ll see many more upwardly mobile Democrats doing seemingly pointless, useless things to build their standing in the party and to introduce themselves outside it. The first step to making sense of them is remembering they define success far differently than independent voters do.

Agree. It's really early, but he probably just became the Dem frontrunner.

As for our governor (yeah, mine too), he can forget it. Pritzker has all the charisma of a wet dish rag

So far, the Dem front runners for 2028 are AOC, Jasmine, Mayor Pete and now Corey. And of course, Gavin and Kamala. That should provide entertaining debates!

All a bunch of dimwits.

A couple of those you named cannot string together multiple sentences without losing their trains of thought.
